Join Edmund Frost of Manager of Twin Oaks Farm and a seed grower and breeder for Common Wealth Seeds in Louisa county Virginia.
He talks about the importance of saving seeds, best practices for harvesting, storage and more. His farm focuses on breeding disease resistant cucurbit seed and produce crops (cucumber, melon, squash, watermelon and gourd) in addition to cucurbit variety trials. Edmund also grows and experiments with home garden seed crops. Seed growing is one of several businesses that sustain Twin Oaks intentional community. Edmund has worked as an organic farming activist and is committed to building functional alternatives for growing food, farms and seeds.

  1. Does he mention Malabar Spinach? It will take me a week to listen to the whole thing because it's too low to hear from any distance. I couldn't get the seeds from last year to germinate, and am unsure if I was supposed to store them in the freezer.
