Webinar Workshop October 12, 2021 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
In a vain attempt at producing gold, 17th-century alchemist Hennig Brand accidentally discovered elemental Phosphorus while heating in a glass retort the residues from boiled-down urine. In modern times, this ‘liquid gold’ is seen as a potent source of increasingly limited phosphorus and useful nitrogen fertilizer. Its application in the garden is profound, but it should not be used without careful consideration.
Join us for a continuation of our Waste Not series, where biochar facility manager Dan Hettinger takes an in-depth exploration into the chemistry and applications of everyday household waste materials. We’ll explore the chemical composition of urine and establish methods for safe application. Following, Dan will share his experience using urine as a primary nutrient in hydroponic growing and experimental duckweed farming, along with other obscure historical uses, including its use in natural dyeing processes and the manufacture of saltpeter.
Our new workshop format welcomes live participants via this website and our YouTube channel. No registration is necessary. Workshops will average less than 2 hours in length, with a 10-minute intermission after the first hour and a Q & A period at the end. Please have your questions ready. We will answer for approximately 30 minutes. Please subscribe, share and donate to support our ongoing educational content.

The volume sucks. Can't hear nothing.
Volume is really bad.
Interesting presentation. I saw you addressed the volume and crackling issue in a response to a comment, but the bell dinging every minute has got to go too.
Thanks.
Ive killed plants with it before.
I use it watered down in the garden around flowering and fruiting plants
We also use it around the chickens area to keep predators out
For plants i use before it rains so it can soak in
Try not to folar feed lol some splashes etc so i aply before rains
For the chickens we aply when its not raining
We use wood ash and everything else in our gardens in the compost
We didn't use epsolm salts this year concernd about the salt content
I found this very useful, thank you for sharing!
Ya gotta fix the volume.
"Streamed" 1 day ago…naturally!
I love this idea and have been using/drinking my urine for a few years, but he cuts in and out 🙁
Love the presentation. I have just started drinking a bit of my morning urine after diluting it with cider vinegar to kill any pathogens. It seems to be healing some of my scar.

I’m so grateful for your effort to make this invaluable information available to those of us that believe that there’s a better way to produce our nutritional supplements and needs. I’m serious about the journey to live in a peaceful balance with nature.
God bless you my brother we are grateful
Sell the sludge to Big Pharma. Their most effective drugs are made from urine. Perganol, urokinase, murine, premarin and many more.
When my boys are playing outside in summer I tell them to pee on my compost pile if they have to "go"
Keep experimenting and learning my friend
