Looks great, Mark!
That looks wonderful! Are your jars processed in any way after you fill them? Are those new bottles or re-used?
Nice recipe. I think a lot of us could put our tomatoes to good use with this tip. Thanks for sharing!
I live in an apartment no garden 🙁 but I'm inspired to go and buy 5kg today and give it a go
Thank you for the Recipe. I will be trying this at the end of my growing season this year. 🙂
Hi SSM,
I was wondering when you do the larger sauce amounts, do you make one kind RED and the other GREEN or YELLOW? Please let me know, I would love to see them in a bottle with each colour compared side by side you know. It must be weird to try a yellow and a red to all intents cooked identically which look different but taste perhaps the same?
Something to keep in mind for next year it sure looks good.
Thanks Mark, that's a lovely recipe, I'll try to remember it for next year 🙂
WOW that looks amazing! I need to start growing some cherry tomatoes. Love your videos 😀
OH wow Mark you got tomatoes coming out of your ears….nice. ) The sauce looks great Mark….love it. I will try this for sure.
Excellent 🙂 we love tomato souse 🙂 Greetings from Ireland 🙂 Thumbs up 🙂
Nice use of the pickings Mark.
I make tomato paste from yellow currents by blitz them whole in the Thermomix. Helps to give them another blitz after cooking to smash up any skin or seeds that softened during the cooking process.
Cheers mate
You would have to mention the meat pie wouldn't you! I have been craving them for some time now, since I can't get 'em here will have to make my own, Dim Sims, iced coffee, vanilla slice, oh look what you started now Mark? All the things I miss!
Tomatoes and sauce looks and great.
I've been having the darnedest time the last few years, didn't even put anything in last year, but those shop store ones are just horrid, no taste like homegrown.
Even tried to just plant some things in pots but, we had a hail storm just after everything came up and that was the end of that, we've had some really hot summers here 104-109 deg F, and the plants just stop producing as they are trying to survive the heat.
I was really turned on with your how to grow videos….
The « pick and cook » format is just awesome. It reminds me of my childhood. Thank you for your hard work Mark, be proud of it.
Can you please make a video on the jar sterilisation/canning process? Pretty much all of the videos on youtube make this look extremely complex and daunting! Awesome channel by the way! Thanks
We do something very similar but char them on a very hot wood fire first (till the skins blister and blacken slightly). Imparts the most LOVELY smokey aroma you can imagine.
I'm wondering if it would taste better if the pepper and garlic were added after straining the skin/seeds out
Can you use raw sugar to make Tomato Ketchup
Or do you have to use white sugar
Having a bunch of cherry tomatoes picked but uneaten, this is exactly what I was hoping to see. Delicious sauce I can make and save the trip to the dreaded outside world (at the moment anyways). Got some vegan sausage rolls set aside to slap this on once it’s cooked. As always, love your video!!
thanks…look like abit too much logistics
