  1. Nobles are my favorite Christmas tree, too! We grew nobles and douglas firs from seedlings years ago and had Christmas trees to cut for many years. Sold a few, too. Now the trees are very tall and I cut branches for decorations. The fresh boughs smell soo good! We heated our house with wood for 36 years. Then we finally installed a heat pump 5 years ago and love it as our house has heat when we're away. The bonus is the air conditioning with the heat pump. It has really been a blessing with the hot summers we've had recently in the PNW. Also when there is smoke and ash in the air from wildfires, we can keep the windows closed. The wood stove is great when it gets very cold or if the power goes out. Although our generator can run the heat pump. Merry Christmas!

  2. Dear sweet Becky. My heart is so happy that you get to do the things you love most. Thank you for sharing your genuineness (is that even a word?). Watching as you decorate your home in such a simple authentic way is truly appreciated. Decorating with those things that have actual meaning to you only adds to its coziness. Why was I on the verge of tears as I watched this video?? It is one of my favorites of all you've done so far. Loved the music throughout too.

  3. How do you deal with Rats & Mice?
Also will you be making a greenhouse in the future? Why get a real tree instead of using a faux tree? Will you cut up the tree when the season ends and use it for something in the garden/home?
For your guest room/ office, I have seen a couch that can fold/pulled out into a bunk bed.

  4. I promise I checked the show notes, but what brand are the programmable lights your husband keeps up and can change colors on?? Loved this video, I'm so excited that this is now your full-time gig!

  5. Becky, did you notice that your new duvet looks like it has a big tear on the bottom seam. It should be easy to fix. Still no closed captions; I have hearing problems and occasionally really need those cc's. Thanks for all the fun!

  6. Becky – love to watch you go about your day. You have peaked my interest with your Christmas lights on the eaves. You said that your husband is able to program them. Wow – I would love to know where and how to get them. Thank you for always presenting quality content that appeals to everyone.

  7. Becky you are so authentic! Love your spirit, so genuine. Tip: I always started my refrigerated meat dish on the kitchen stove to bring it up to temperature and finished it on the wood stove unless the wood stove is already blazing hot. Cozy home, btw.

  8. We call that pot a potjie pot. South Africans use ours on coal fires on the ground and make Potjiekos. You can use chicken, lamb or beef. You should look up a recipe and try it, I am sure you will love it.

  9. Congratulations on becoming a full time you tuber. Now you’ll have more time for your furbabies, your girls, and all your upcoming projects. This year we went simple and light inside the house. Bright clear lights how elegant, candles for soft mood, roaring fire in the stove warms not just your dinner but the sole as well. Handmade ornaments on the tree, door wreaths and plenty of Christmas goodies.
Never to late to learn or make changes. Thank you for sharing your ideas.

  10. Hi Becky, I love watching you and wanted let you know that the pot you used on the wood stove is best used to sit directly on coals or closer to the fire not on the wood stove. The legs on the pot prevent the bottom of the pot from getting the direct heat like the pots with boiling water. That is why it took so long for the chicken to cook. The pot is gorgeous, I hope you continue to get lots of use from it.
