I was asked the question, do you need to clean out your duck pond/dam? So I give the answer as we watch the ducks and chickens go about their morning play time. 🙂

Pond muck supposed to be a great fertilizer for garden. FYI.
lovely view mate
be well
Nice pond mate, you didn't dig it out by hand did you? I'm assuming you got a little mini-digger in. Anyhow, the ducks love it so it can't be bad. Cheers Adam
If you can cover the pvc exposed above water level with something like astroturf, it will protect it from uv degradation. Even butyl liners degenerate in sunlight. I suggest astroturf bearing in mind the traffic of mucky ducks. For an ornamental pond, the edges can be covered with natural vegetation.
dam ducks eating the dam wall!
Certainly did the trick in the end. I remember the leaky dam clip.
What a beautiful setting for the pond 🙂
The dappled light through the gums really give it that harmonious look…
Great info. I'm considering adding a very small pond to the fenced in area where my ducks live. They are Indian Runner ducks, so they are not as in need of a water feature as other breeds, but I'm sure they would appreciate it.
I remember that gooey stuff you put on it, and the other changes too, and I have to say, that whatever you did, sure made it Gorgeous. I really love the pond area. I have this real tiny spot on my small place where a frog comes every year, and it's only about 2 feet around, so I'm leaving it there. It's under a huge tree and very protected, so I guess he/she likes it. My property is so small that I could never have a pond, but even a frogs waterhole is fun to watch. Bless, Sheila
They get to have a pond in the nice shade of the woods and all I have is a bucket on the alley behind my apartment. #DucksLife hahaha
great update on the duck pond !! full of great information and advice !! the do's and don'ts is very informative !! thanks for sharing and happy gardening !!
The ducks love the water and so do the hens mate, this is why I built my small duck pond 🙂 great video
Even if we clean our geese pond, they mess it back up immediately. They dig around in the dry soil and put the dirt in the pond.
what's your ratio to duck to drakes ? I have two drakes and 5 females but I'm just curious about your ducks
VERY useful. And what wonderfully happy animals!! I gotta find more of your stuff!!
Do you have a mosquito problem with that water feature?
I Love your videos. How many acres is your place? I would love more than 2.5 acres… that's what I have. and crazy neighbors. Thank you for these great videos.
Beautiful!
This is heaven. I envy you man, such a life is only imaginary to many of us. Wishing you and your family all the best in life!
