The Food Forest is built on a thick wood chip mulch, which is the same technique used in the “Back To Eden Method.” I let the worms and the fungus do the work for me. Working with nature rather then against it.

Absolutely beautiful!!
What an awesome backyard to walk into!
How do you walk around in there without stepping on something to eat? lol
Would like to see an update on the other space you started with the trees that you had to strip the poison off and "bare root" them. I believe you planted a bunch of strawberries and blueberries in that space as well. Also, do you ever grow onions and garlic?
Lookin' good man. Before long I shall be creating a food forest of my own in Tucson, AZ.
very cool… can give tour of your house? how you arrange stuffs?
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got
Till it's gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot
Some lyrics from Joni Mitchell's Big Yellow Taxi sums it up, especially on the apples.
They took all the trees
Put 'em in a tree museum *
And they charged the people
A dollar and a half just to see 'em Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got
Till it's gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lotHey farmer farmer
Put away that DDT * now
Give me spots on my apples
But leave me the birds and the bees
Please! Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got
Till it's gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot
Pretty good video about gardening
Awesome space – where do you get so many wood chips to start?
Thats crazy, hazel nuts wow. You can make your own hazelnut coffee lol. That self seeding tomato wow. Wood chips building soil wow.
Thank you for the video
Never heard of the deep mulch system called back to eden, ome is rooted in reality and one is not. That bird is most likely an Oriole.
I feel your joy. Thank you for sharing. BEAUTIFUL.
I cherry picked through your videos from when you started to the present and watched them with my 12 yr old grandson. He was impressed…I could see a little inspiration on his face ( that was the plan) He's going to help in our garden and I hope he gets inspired to grow his own. He was very interested in what you've done and he wants to help low-income people have better food. He also liked your intro music 🙂 Thanks for doing what you do.<3 Maybe a history/timeline video of the food forest? I know I would share it. It would be a great teaching tool. ~Blessings~
Always inspiring ! ! Thanks for sharing your abundance ! ! !
I love your food forest!
I like listening to this man.
how old is your grapefruit vine? is it hard to maintain?
Also, have you ever considered adding some milkweed plants for the monarch butterfly?
Bro you Rock!
Awesome man. I like your taste. You stick to the basics. Or at least what's native. I find that a lot of people try to plant stuff that's too exotic to their environment. Concord grapes are a smart choice for NJ or NY. Good luck!!
Everything is sustainable as long as you are the sustainer
Just wondering do you get worms in your apples and if so how do you stop it
your videos are wonderful
Part of my pleasure of gardening is viewing the birds, I also talt to them specially the Robin red breast. So please to see your birds eating and bathing. I have wild grey squirrel I never get any nuts
What if the wood chips you get is diseased? Will that just help with decomposition?
I grew up growing with Concore Grapes making juice and jelly. My dad was a grap master. When he pasted I got a start from his and brought it here 20 years ago.
Im growing them this year Big …they been out there but I was hit by drunk driver… been down for years. However, I use lil pie pans on fishing line. Help keeps birds away from grapes. I absolutely love your garden.
Your are an amazing man! You are doing what I love doing. Plus I love growing Herbs, and wish I had Fruit trees. Thank you again for a trip around your land.
