Hugs to you and your boy. Lost our barn cat this week it’s never easy.
Thank you so much for this video. Your honesty is beautiful to hear.
So sorry to hear about Little Bit . I know you loved her and she had a good life . animals are family too. The Lord tells us there is a place for animals in Heaven too. Praying for you all . Have a blessed evening . Linda
Patera, I cry when one of my animals/babies pass. It's hard not to. You put so much love and care into them. In return they provide for us. It's hard not to get upset. Thanks for sharing.
Thank You for sharing! It reminds me of how temporary life is ! Hug and kiss the ones you love, tomorrow isn’t guaranteed! Prepper Nurse told me that!
Over the years, and I am 74, I have had 3 rescue dogs pass and over 10 cats and every time I have cried. Even if raised for food, you cannot help but get attached to any animal that fills your life. As a child I brought home kittens, baby birds and baby rabbits. When I was about 12, my dad said the next one you bring home we will keep and toss you out!! Obviously, my dad had as tender a heart as I did, because I remember him hanging old Easter baskets filled with grass in the tree so the mama bird would feed them!
It’s always hard to lose a loved one, no matter the number of legs. Much love to you and your family.
I am so sorry to hear about your loss! I feel the same way about my fur buddies! I never call them pets because I am their human not their master.
I don't understand why some people think we have no heart and soul. Each animal in our charge is special. Even the roosters. They all have jobs including you. I cry every time I lose or butcher an animal. So many misconceptions by others because we raise animals for food. I have to do the best I can for them. Raise them with kindness and respect. Then do your best to make sure the last day is calm and caring.
AMEN! I got goosebumps! I cry to over and over. I had one hen that had a bumble foot. I took her to the vet and he did surgery on her foot and I was there. They wound up having to put me on the floor because I was about to pass out. Like you these ARE my babies and she lived for a long while and I treated her foot for I know a month or more. She still wound up dying and I lost it. I named her Trooper because she WAS a Trooper! My daughter was hugging me because I was balling crying. We tried sooo hard, she tried sooooo hard and I just KNEW she was going to make it. It is VERY hard losing one and I am sooooooooo sorry for your loss!!!
I just lost my buff Orpington Lemon Drop the other evening! I feel your loss. She had been going through ups and downs for two months now. The evening before she sat in my lap ate meal worms and looked really good. She was sitting on the coop floor when I left for work the next morning just looking around. My husband met me that evening in the driveway. He said she had come out to free range with the others but he had found her lying in the run when he had gone to put them up for the night. I will miss my sweet fluffy butt!
Totally understand!
Hi Patara. It's always good to see and hear from. There are many life lessons that we dismiss. Thanks for sharing your heartbreaking experiences with us. Peace and blessings.
I'm so sorry for your loss. In one week we lost 2 dogs and 1 hen. It was a rough week here on our homestead.
Thanks hun. I appreciate your honesty and I'm sorry for your loss.
Love.
You are sooooo sweet…..
I appreciate your thoughts so very much Patera, thank you.
Animals are so special, they are little gifts from God to teach us things we can’t learn from each other! Bless you and your family, I’m sorry you had to go through this.
The loss of friend and this living being lost at the same time reinforces loss. Just means you care. That's a good thing.
Love it
When my Westie died I felt like I had been punched in the heart. They are part of your family.
We love our animals & that's the way it should be. Shame on us if it isn't.
She sounds like a sweet little soul. A lesson in brave action. My farm had a whole little area where we buried all our little friends. They nourished a lovely stand of shade trees.
Patara, could you list the dates, times and place where the 2021 Homestead Conference will take place. I m not on Facebook because I don't like their policies so I don't get your notifications there. Thanks!
I. Lost 2 of my girls within a month of each other. Super sad. Now I’m adding to the flock and grateful for what those two have taught me. Thanks for sharing! ❤️✌️
