i love to feel the dirt in my hands so no gloves for me
how come rabbits come i to the garden even though you have dogs? maybe when they shed their fur, keep some of it and stuff it in the ground/mix with some soil or distribute it around some plants so that the smell gets stronger. worked wonders for me when i had issues with weasels climbing into my car
I like my hands dirty
HAHAHAHAHA!!! IT'S OK TO BE BAD ONCE IN A WHILE. LOL. And thrifty. THANKS FOR YOUR VIDEOS….. YOU INSPIRE ME.
#### YOU CAN PLANT CARROTS AND RADISHES TOGETHER IN ONE SPOT AND THE RADISHES WILL COME UP AND BE HARVESTABLE WAY BEFORE THE CARROTS GET TO BIG TO CROWD THEM #### I read that in a companion gardening book.
Great video! I too use totes, they're great, especially for potatoes.
I like to ‘garden’ in ‘Marigold’ gloves, they keep my hands clean but enable me to feel the soil as I’m planting.
Girl the amount of potting soil you use would be worth getting a truck load full!
I’m pretty sure your my spirit animal…lol
Becky, I enjoy your videos so much. I agree with lots that have posted….The grow bags are a game changer but you are wasting so much soil $$$. I save old branches, that I cut into 12 inches or so, leaves, wood chips and cardboard too! Also you might want to add perlite in the bags too. I learned that the hard way. the bags got too compacted and roots did not do well.
No gloves for me.
I get $1.00 diet Cokes at McDonald's all the time.
Manure straight onto your plants will Burn them badly, had to come back and add that if you mix it with the potting soil you already have in the grow bags, its not a bad ratio basically you want it to be about 1/4 or less of the mix. but straight on top, cringing a bit, I hope you get a chance to mix it in.
Heloo.. love your garden I was wandering where the sun look so good and you said zone 8b…well I am at Tacoma / parkland but we only get few minutes of sun and still lots of rain. I`m trying my first garden this year but weather its crazy , ( I may have pick the wrong year to start a garden ..lol) about 1/2 of my seedlings / plants are dead , now I am scare of planting anything else on the beds.
Always love your videos Becky. I feel like I’ve seen every video you’ve made but am curious about your watering system. Is it a soaker hose, drips…. Would love to know. Thank you again for all your hard work and for sharing w the rest of us.
You can save so much money with your potting soil by making your own especially if you are filling that many! Compost, peat moss, perlite. Perlite is cheapest I've found at feed stores. Peat moss at home depot, and you can use your own compost or buy bagged. I'm filling 40 grow bags and I did the math I'm spending about half this way.
Thank you Becky for teaching me so much and thanks for making me smile as soon as I hear your voice on my sickest days
Lol girl don’t worry about that tea. Mickey D’s tea is awesome.
I totally wear gloves when gardening or even when dealing with cardboard and the waste bins. Question: what’s wrong with McD’s? I’m not aware of any controversy with the company.
I was always told that you CAN NOT plant paprika with tomatoes (paprika release substances that may weaken your tomatoes) and cucumbers. Also its better not let cucumbers leaves touch leaves of tomatoes.
I’m wondering if you ever use your word Ash in your garden? I started using mine from my fire pit and got a better harvest last year. I pulled a Becky today at Home Depot and came home with a truck full of plants and bags of dirt.
