Second year gardening….been learning from my mom and my 97 year old grandpa
The Farmers' Gamble
You gotta know when to hoe them,
you gotta know when to mow them
Know when to weed away
And know when your beans'll run
You never count your eggs
When you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin'
When the hatchin's done
And don't forget about BACK UPS to your garden!!!! We had a storm come through early Monday morning and almost took out my whole garden. I'm hoping to save my corn, but I'm not sure it's going to happen. Thankfully, I have back up corn in my pantry so if it doesn't come back, I'm not going to be in the red (so to speak). The rest of the garden is going to be a cross my fingers and pray it all comes back and continues to grow. Stay busy people!
My zucchini seeds took off, beautiful sprouts, plants look great, lots of blossoms BUT NO zucchini. The flowers last a while & die. Thoughts anyone?
My patio garden is growing well. It's in the DNA. Thank you ancestors.
I just came home from grocery shopping. I moved five states away. I had to restart my new pantry, even though I moved my old pantry with me.
While checking out the cashier, I have gotten to know, told me that folks are starting to panic shop. The circus is beginning.
"Fail my way to success!" It's one of my all time fave phrases since I started gardening and it keeps mee going when I feel defeated!
I’m hopeless as a grower of food. You all intimidate me
Love that you learned something.
love this! I will be learning seed saving this year…
Love and Strength, everyone!
Rabbit stew if the rabbit returns
Did you see thousands of cattle died in Kansas and they are blaming it on the heat?…people watch your farms closely.
What do you do to keep weeds out of your garden rows ?
Does anyone recommend a seed mat to purchase?
Patara please show us how you’ll put those slips in your mounds
Thank you for these videos. My sister and I have begun a garden. Praying for all the farmers. God bless you.
This is my first year with sweet potato, not sure yet what I will get but they seem healthy and growing.
Another great video!
Just saw a post from Yansa. Over 2000 cattle dead, lying in organized piles in Kansas.. Check it out.
Anyone have any idea why my beefsteak toms are not producing? They flower and the stem dries up with no fruit. Plants are very healthy otherwise. Any suggestions?
How was the rabbit stew?
Thank you for showing how to grow sweet potatoes from slips. This is something that I can next year when I go to plant sweet potatoes. I planted two different types of sweet potatoes this. I lost 6 of my purple sweet potatoes to the rabbits, they did not come back but I still have six. I enjoy watching your videos.
Oh those rabbits!! I planted three lemon trees last fall and one was almost killed by the jackrabbits.
Another thing I am noticing are these new builds have hardly any land and can barely put any kind of garden. At least that is the way it is here in Murfreesboro TN. All the new homes are on top of each other or are then houses.
