I love Christmas and all the fun preparations. Even more fun is that the next day i start planting in plug boxes chillies and paprikas. This year I started early to make some fun presents for my sister in law. I am looking like mad in Europe for the Corbaci and the aroz con polo peppers that you grow. I agree there is something hard about letting go of the growing season when it starts to fade and the season changes. Although I do get a pleasure out of nice thick layers of mulch blanketing everything!

Like you, it makes me sad when the warm garden season is over. I'll have some collards growing over the winter and will leave Jerusalem artichokes stored in ground for winter harvest; plus the thyme, rosemary, and walking onions will hold up pretty good.

I found scissors at Costco for $18 for 4 pairs. They are Scotch titanium and I have a pair at the chicken coop, the garden, and the house. They have lasted years and are still sharp although the handles have a bit of mildew stains. You should find a pair and leave them on the garden table for garden use. They are awesome!
Love the coop! One addition my hubby added to ours was to run a cable from the back porch to the pop door, that way we can open and close it from the porch.
