What you said about giving up too early really resonated with me. I almost gave up on a whole bunch of tomato starts that didn't sprout, until I dug down and realized that they had germinated and sprouted, I had just planted the seeds too deep. I dug them out and replanted the sprouts and nursed them back to health, and now I've got 8 more tomato sprouts than expected. Your story is absolutely inspiring!!

You too are both super cute together! You remind me of my husband and I so many years ago. We always worked together on everything. Do you ever make your own fertilizer either with chicken poop or any other of your animals? My Mother used the chicken poop and everything in her garden grew very prolific. When I inherited a dozen roses in our first home, my learning curve was so steep! Just like you, I love my coffee, so if you put your used coffee grounds on them and cut them for bouquets, they will exponentially explode. I move and divide my lavender and perennials flowers every fall and sometimes in the spring because indecision is better than intractably stuck.
