So after a few years of trying to encourage my 6 year old to come into the garden, he finally came out to help today and your words about being patient couldn't have been more useful. There were a few frenzied moment where he found the joy of planting (YAY!) but when my back was turned he almost dug up my newly emerging peonies (we're in Australia). But a deep breath and refocusing his enthusiasm and he was a lot of help and it was so lovely to have him in the garden with me finally.

I have a 23 year old Croton. It’s grown into a tall, leggy TREE! I recently took the plunge and cut each branch and put them in water. The hope is they root and I can re-plant and keep for another 23 years.

I prefer a sunshine 68-70. Even though I will probably be in a few light layers. Anything below 70 is chilly. Below 60 is when I am shivering.
