  1. In Swiss villages folks want you to have a little home backyard garden. Each person grows a large quantity of one thing in addition to other stuff that they like period then they all trade with neighbours

  2. I just found out you are in my home state! But my little city garden (no animals) takes forever to grow anything. Do you add anything to your garden soil.

  3. Can you do a video on how to make a tomato trellis (not sure what to call it?) Next year I want to make one for my tomatoes and my blackberries. This is my first year planting a garden and I see some mistakes that will be different next year.. I love your video's they have helped me and given my things to try next year. We have a small back yard and I want yo get the most bang for my buck. Have you ever grown white sweet potatoes?

  6. I’m a little nervous about using my pressure canner, I’ve never done it before. Can you walk us through using your pressure canner? I like the way you explain things.

  7. Please call your county extension agent. He/she will know what is going on with your plum tree and other plants, veggies or trees. They are a much needed under utilized office.

  8. I would love to garden again. I would have to do container garden. On my sad little apt patio. Lol. However I live in Florida and our growing season can start In February. I love recycling five gallon buckets from Firehouse subs. It supports equipment and education costs for firemen. And the pickle buckets are $2 each. Right now I have ornamental plants that are doing SO well. Along with an aloe plant, and green onions grown from scraps

    I am doing balcony garden to scratch my grow itch and I definitely need to pay more attention to amending the soil. They stunted after a while.
    I started doing Bokashi composting and will see how that turns out.

    I am wondering why you don't eat onion leaves? They are just like spring onion which has endless of use.

  10. If you want tender Celery….gather the stalks together and tie each stalk together lining it with newspaper (like a pipe) and tie it with about 3 ties per stalk, and leave for about 2 weeks.

  11. Wow, I have recently found your channel and I love watching it to unwind after long days at Culinary School. I so admire the way that you cook and preserve food and it is just so comforting. I was wondering why I find your channel feels so much like home, and then boom: you're from Portland area. I grew up just across the river in Camas/Vancouver area. Love what you're doing, and you inspire me to start my own garden when I move back after graduation!

  12. Catching up on your videos! I just went to our farmers market here in Manhattan, Kansas for the first time and it is amazing!! It was so wonderful to speak with the farmers and producers of local food and I came home with some delicious things. I also just got done eating some pickles that I made from cucumbers I grew myself! I’m so excited about my garden next year because I want to make it even bigger and better. It’s so great to know there’s other people out there in my generation who are passionate about this area of life!
