  1. I'm wondering why my tiny butternut squash fruits are turning brown before they grow. Some of them are making it into adulthood, but others turn into a rotten brown color. I don't think I'm watering too much. I spray them with neem oil. I don't know what the issue is..

  2. Very interesting about temperature affecting cucurbits. That's new for me! I have an additional reason cucumbers aren't producing fruit: no male flowers!!!! I kid you not. My trellised cukes have begun to bloom and I was thrilled to see so many female blossoms, until I noticed there were no males. Lol, hopefully the issues rights itself!

  3. He makes some interesting points. The problem I have is there inside the bud capsule the leaves open but there is no sign of a flower. So there is no pollenThink about a closed up tight rose bud , the bud opens and there's no rose, not even a sign that an insect may have eaten it. I'm going to try the pruning. I have the plants trellised. what do you think?

  4. Lovely video just like your other videos. So practical and I learn a lot from you. I then practice in my garden and can see lovely results. Thank you lots.

  5. New to gardening in central florida. I did not know that heat in Florida they won't fruit. What is a good time to plant like cukes, zucchini and tomatoes. My kids built me a beautiful raised bed so I don't have to kneel. Also what can I plant durning the hot months.. Thanks so much

  6. my problem is the leaves closest to the root have started to turn yellow. It was really hot so that was part of it, but now things are turning yellow, while new growth is still going like crazy.

  7. Thank you for all the great tips! I am having an issue with my zucchini plants that I can't find the answer anywhere. My zucchini plants have been producing female flowers but the flowers just stayed green and wouldn't open for pollination. I am missing something in the soil? Please advice!
    Thank you. Kim.

  8. Thanks Luke for sharing how to get rid of troublesome ants. I was very successful in getting the abundance of ants to stop flooding my tomatoes plants and watermelons.

  9. I actually have been thinking the ants are helping me pollinate; at least, my cucumbers. I have watched the ants go from male to female flowers, and have had cucumbers forming. My pumpkins have shown no signs of producing yet I see clear male and female flowers, it's healthy! In the mornings, there will be so many ants clustering around inside the pumpkin flowers, and I haven't seen them exactly LEAVE the flowers… I see now what is going on. Your videos are the best. I'm going to hop over to the ant removal video now.

  10. I am more and more impressed by what great info you share MI Gardener… me, my garden and my hungry neighbors thank you!

  11. Thanks for the info! Only 2nd year gardening, and the first year with a pumpkin plant and this answered all the questions we have had.
Thank you!! Next year will be so much better because of your points!
