Wait? You are going to plant strawberries now?
If you live anywhere near a University see if they have a farm store and get veggies from there to plant.
have you done a home tour yet? i keep checking to make sure God Bless
ZONE 5B, DO YOU THINK I COULD GROW BUSH GREEN BEANS IN THE GREENSTALKS?
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! It is so good of you to do these start to finish vlogs. We rarely get to see the whole process this way, and I for one really appreciate this!
So thankful I found your website
Do you keep your strawberry plants year to year in your green stalks? If you do how do you winterize them? Or do you have to get new plants every year?
Greenstalk Planter…also, Next year I'll plant only herb plants…and paying special attention to the lower most tier…extra water! Good luck with your move…it's been fun watching you set up your new farm.
If I want to use a leaf planter for succession sowing of lettuce and spinach, should I start the first planting in the bottom layer and then move up for later plantings or start at the top and work my way down?
Its great to see all the progress. Even though you haven't had a garden since the move its great you been supporting local farm markets and other community members. When I travel to PA I always visit some Amish stores and local produce markets or stores and get goods. Are you going to have some rain barrels near the corners of the house for the flower/garden beds? Are you guys still attending the Homesteading of America Conference? Ill be there at HOAC on Friday. I enjoy the variety of videos you have been sharing from homestead progress, gardening, devotionals, community outreach, and DIY projects.
I bought green stalks using ur code!!! TY
Jess how do you handle ticks! I live in Texas and only in the past couple years have I had to deal with them. It seems with the animals and gardening and wild children you probably have to deal with them too!
Did you see that video of making concrete raised beds? They never rot. You can disassemble them and move them if you want to. They are indestructable and nice looking. Please watch the video. See them before you decide yes or not. Thanks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7jz96MDvyo
your "majestical refuge" row good for you, so happy to see you doing YOU
I can hardly wait to see what you do with that little plot of land!!!!!!
It is tough when you go from gardening for many years to not having a garden cold turkey. I am blessed to have been able to expand my garden each year since I was able to start it up again and the plans for next year’s spring garden are running on replay in my head as I get to expand even more which will double to triple my space for this year ❤️ and I will be able to grow so much more food and provide better food for my family.
So my first thought, being also from this hurricane-loved coast was: those greens talks are so going to topple. Which wld be horrible. Umm…I dunno. So is it possible to anchor them or dig down a base or do u guys not get such strong winds where u are now? Not sure if hurricane season is over yet; here in LI we just got another bad one about a week ago. Just a thought. Hopefully an unnecessary one. Cheers, and happy gardening.
You have a great husband! You go Miah!
Hi Jess i love the Colour T. I see you are using Charles method x Unboxing with Jess x We ars always hearing of how much food one can grow in a small space. Now Jess myDarling you will get to experience that. Much live to you all xxxxxxxx
Jess you're a lovely woman, but your hair is so messed, a n
d a.huge.irritant.Tie it up when making your enjoyable videos PLEASE
Strawberries are way better in the Leaf planter because you can put way more in! They don't need the deep pockets of the original GreenStalks!
Your place is coming on real pretty !!! It looks so peaceful ! can't wait to see you small garden in a couple of months !
Hi, have been a sub for a long time and never commented! I purchased 2 green stalks and I'd like to thank you for this vid!. I'm in Connecticut zone 6a and was wondering if I could do anything with them for fall and protect them in our very cold and snowy winters! Now I plan to set on up on my deck, near the kitchen and plant. We'll see how it goes! Blessings to you and your family and take care! 😉
