Want to build your food security?? Investing in a freezer dryer is a great addition to your food preservation arsenal. I was a little intimidated by it at first but now I can’t wait to dive in and freeze-dry everything! In this video, we freeze-dried eggs and peppers!

  1. We use soooo much broth. I find the freeze dryer fascinating and can think of all kinds of things to do in it… sadly it will be quite a while before it would be in my budget 🙁

  2. I did chicken stock in the freeze dryer a while back – it was amazing and I will definitely be doing it again! I refrigerated it first so the gelatin set and then I could just slice it and set it on the trays. Otherwise it would probably have been all over the place, LOL.

  3. Wondering if the freeze drying would work with the something like the tomato soup that was made in another video (maybe without the cream added) …

  4. Missed having you do the taste test at the end like you did with the eggs. I love you videos. I’m learning right along side you and Budgeting so we can buy the freeze dryer also.
Would love a video of how you clean and set up your oven.

  5. A freeze dryer has been on my dream list for a few years but is more of a long term goal because they are spendy. This is the number one thing I wanted one for. Thanks for sharing! I will reference this video in a couple of years because dreams come true! : )

  6. I wonder how much wattage the freeze dryer takes. We are off grid and as it stands we can’t even have an electric dehydrator as it takes up too much energy. We plan to build an outside solar dehydrator but I’ve never heard of a solar freeze dryer.
