How much to use per plant?
You need to do a crash course. First garden raised bed to building multiple with connecting trellises. Even your videos from 8 years ago are relevant given good information always lasts. This is my first year going hard in the garden and I have managed 6 tomatoes in one planter and a healthy herb grab bin and a raised bed, half strawberry/lettuce.
I have been experimenting mostly with compost and organic native additives. I found blending seashells, activated carbon and pure peat pellets makes this soil that always feels springy and holds moisture the longest. My next goal is to figure how much sulfur powder, charcoal and mineral rich aggregate I can add in order to make the perfect inert grow medium. Once I find the perfect balance, I want to start using my food scraps and work on the microbiology. Currently, I found mushroom compost mixed with some hardwood mulch to produce interesting results.
I can't wait till I have endless perfect soil that has been created through shells, wood and organic matter. (with all the native beneficial organisms in my area) Once I reach that point and I can prove it is a better soil that can handle not only organic admendments but also hold non-organic fertilizers/amendments (Blended activated carbon seems to hold all the miracle grow I give it, so I try not to use too much activated carbon dust), I'll be in the position to say, this is absolutely the best way to to grow a tomato.
Growing up, I had a little garden box that would grow anything from invasive herbs, wallnuts, popcorn kernals.. Everything about that little box had 20 years of built up potting mix, worms and I would bury all the dying plants into it before the winter. I can't wait to have the perfect soil and raised garden bed circle with cold frames. I am doing seashell walkways, 3 fruit trees and the 3 beds connected to the middle with a composter. I have been looking at burying PVC/Venting, still in the planning phase and I just discovered I can make my own bricks out of seashells so I am debating the materials.
There is some huge organic greenhouse farm corporations where I live since Canada requires greenhouses. I recently went to a special nursery and It blew my mind what is possible to grow here, if you get it big enough and do the soil PH/Volume/nutrients correctly, you can get away with mango trees in the winter if you really want to. (My friend has his in a giant pot and is next to the hot tub/pool shed, so snow doesn't usually stick/pile up there)
My point is I really do think we can grow our ways to produce better food or at the very least, have herbs and salad fixings with every meal. I did not realize how committed I would get with a few seed packs and grow lights. The more I learn, the less complicated it all seems. Plants just work themselves when you apply these exact things I have learned from your channel. Please double down and do lessons on soil fertility ranges based on PH and inter-cropping to fix nitrogen and reduce pests. Currently something is coming out of my strawberry garden and eating my lettuce, I now know to use strawberries as a ground cover and less in a square-foot garden way.
I will probably stick to lettuce by itself or have its entire own section in the herb spiral. Anyways IDK if people actually read this, if you made it this far then your definitely in the right place.

WOW! you have come quite a long ways Mr. Gardener. Watching in 2020 and 2012 is such a massive difference, and yet youve built yourself up so excellently and improved so much. Youtube is still recommending these gems, and my thirst for knowledge is quenched.

Gypsum is pretty much pH neutral. Not acidic. The calcium and sulfur balance the ph.
And if you do this, wear a dust mask. Im no safety sam, but that is important!
I would suggest that you mask your nose and mouth to protect you from the direct dust.
