VIDEO: Exotic Fruit Taste Test + Seed Saving

Me and my buddy Chris decided to go to meijer and buy out their exotic fruit section. It was delicious, and creepy, and exotic! I hope you all enjoy it, and I made sure to save seeds for planting if any seeds could be found.

  1. I tried most of those things the flavor and smell changes when you pick them ripe from the plant, its like heaven and hell.
I do eat the guava seeds, old people say that are bad for little kids, they may plug your stomach or something if you eat a ton of them, same is said about cactus pear and dragon fruit seeds. I never had a problem or know anyone that had it.

  2. lol wow thats a small pear lol..great video it really help when someone can describe how this taste the moth ball feeling in the mouth from the persimmons is when its not rip that kind needs to be almost falling apart

  3. The "PAPPLE" is actually a cross between a European and Asian variety of pear. It is not a cross with an apple. The names comes from the fact it looks like an apple. It tastes like a piece of rubber in my opinion. Not worthy of the labor. But hey…. It's all about the fun of growing! Good score on the fruit.

  4. Sorry, That one was a bit of a knee jerk….I come from a long line of country folk who evidently all had phobias about various things. My Grandmother's freakout was on the subject of eating seeds.
In her opinion, if you could SEE the seed, it was too dangerous to eat.
This may have had as much to do with her long history of diverticulitis as anything else
In all her canning, the pickles, jam, and preserves were either seedless, or cooked to mush…except for the strawberries

  5. I AM SOOOOOO GLAD YOU DID THIS VIDEO!!!! I FOUND THIS FRUIT TREE NEAR MY HOUSE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHEN THE FAM AND I WENT FOR A WALK. WE PICKED SOME AND HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE WITH THE HACHIYA PERSIMMON…WE HAD NO IDEA WHAT IT WAS AND THOUGHT WE HAD EATEN POISON..LOLOL…YOU ROCK!!!

  6. the papaye you just eat wasn't…….. grow anough……. i went costa rica they're papaye ARE syuper big ……….. i mean 3 ft tall (LONG)…… was extremly good ;suggar; sweet just i want some more

i suggest if you want grow tropical fruit ……go to the native country plants….. i know money wise so…..
I'LL click on every link ๐Ÿ˜‰

  7. The big persimmon needs to be over-ripe before you eat it. Store it with apples (it will not ripen on its own) until it becoms translucent dark orange and it will get super sweet persimmon jelly ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Also, you should not eat any of the white skin on the pomelo, just eat all the small bits in each clove. That way you get almost no bitterness and only a nice chrunchy sweetness.

  9. Yo…how did the cherimoya grow go?! Curious to know myself…I took some seeds from a Passion Fruit Chobani yogurt and they grown some nice roots…takes bout a week or so for them to sprout, but look into SOuth Florida Tropical Fruit Growers on youtube….may get some exotic seeds from there!

  10. The guayaba you eat with the peel, you swallow the seeds, you don't chew on them. What you do, is when it is ripe enough it turns yellow and it is soft. You eat it as is, like you would an apple. It becomes so soft you can mush it up with your tongue against your mouth roof, and if you chew you do it softly. That's it. I noticed yours was green so it might had not been ripe. Hope you have a better experience next time. Enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing.

  11. I totally LOLED with the persimmons ๐Ÿ˜› I had a similar experience…. The second one wasn't ripe enough. If not, they are very fuzzy and not very sweet. It's totally horrible… but get one when it is ripe enough (ie. super soft and mushy), they are very sweet and delicious. I don't care for the skin on them either ><

  12. The papaya wasn't ripe it needs to be mostly yellow on the outside and have some give to it! When you eat it ripe it is very sweet a good recipe to do with it is to peel off all the skin whale its whole than cut it in have and take out all the seeds and cut it into bite size cubes then put it into a large bowl after your done doing that get a half or whole lime what ever you prefer and squeeze it all over the papaya it is very tasty it brings out the flavour of the papaya by a lot first bit it is a little sour than you get that super sweet papaya it is truly amazing so i hope this helps any viewers enjoy!!

  13. on the cherimoya, if you eat the seeds you could be hospitalized or it can even lead to death. so be very careful. you can bite through it but if you eat the inside of the seed you know what will come.

  14. Ok, super funny! You can eat the Fuyu persimmon even when hard. I do usually peel it but you don't have to. It's sweeter when it's softer. You can wait until it's super soft. Hachiya ripens fine by itself on the countertop, but could be faster w/ other ripe fruit. Guava seeds are fine but very hard. A lot of people blend guava. There are guavas with more meat, fewer seeds. Guava also gets sweeter when it's softer and some need to ripen on the plant but are picked when it's not ripe, so it's not as good. Papaya does need to be soft before being eaten, BUT lots of them are picked too green and do not ripen correctly. The meat should be pungent and slightly sweet. Pommelo is really mild, but needs to be yellow.
