Only problem with not putting those hugel beds on contour….where are you sending your water? And will it stay long enough for what you need it to do? Looks like you've made some awesome progress though 🙂 Very excited for you!
Thanks faieriegardener, I appreciate the comment, and you laying out your criticism in a constructive way! Me and my brother were working on the Hugel beds today, and I will upload a short video that better describes what we are trying to do. Any suggestions would be great though.
I strongly believe that the only reason to give criticism is to help not to hurt 🙂 If you get a chance to watch them, there are a few videos by survivalpodcasting that he just got done doing. He's got some hugle beds going and he's going to have Geoff Lawton out at his place at some point. BIG project 🙂 Glad you guys are going big with your garden! I'll keep watching 🙂
Well put, Yeah I love Jack Spirko! He is one of the guys who led me to Sepp Holzer and ultimately to Hugelkulture, the idea we had of digging out the pathway between the two beds a little bit to help hold more water was an idea I took from Jack, although we didnt get into exact contouring. I wish I lived closer to Texas also I would have loved to have been apart of his first workshop, and Geoff Lawton is like one of my heroes lol.
I feel the same way! I sigh everytime he talks about his workshops wishing I lived closer. I'd probably pass out if I got to go to ANY of Geoff Lawton's!
I had to go back and reference my memory from like 5 years back! definitely the hugel bed! Beyond an awesome evolution. I just started a channel with very modest ambitions (just looking to network). I would love for you to check it out. Peace! RJD2 sample plays on!

This is about where i am right now with my yard!
I watch this to inspire myself: “look how far this man has gone! Even his voice! I can do that!”
You've mentioned burying sticks under the mulch. What is the purpose, and (if I'm about right) how long does it take to break down?
Tuck as a young dog lol
Which two dickheads "disliked" this video? Jerks.
Could Tuck and I go for a walk?
