  1. Haha thanks Chris. Nothing compared to the swales that you just made, which were like pieces of art. I cant wait to see what those swales look like when they are lush with vegetation! Also, in the sill you made with the water running down the next bed your idea of using the rocks there was genius, and reminded me of something
Geoff Lawton would do. Thanks for tuning in though, and I have another video updating if you wana tune in, and send some constructive criticism my way that would be great!

  2. James, thanks for the hugelkultur info. I'm using this plan to clear my hill of 15 trees we had to cut due to bugs and illness. A food forest is how I'm going to use all my new sun! I'm so excited to have found your videos. They are helpful to know pit falls, learning so much new gardening ideas and I have been gardening a long time. I just couldn't put it together completely until watching your videos. My goal to teach this to my sons. Thank you. I'm greatful for my plot of land, my loving Yorkie Rio, your videos and my hubby.

  3. “Hüglekultur? What’s Hüglekultur?……”
So I looked into it & then at my back yard loaded with piles of newly cut down tree limbs that I had been wondering what to do with. The heavens opened up and I swear to god I heard angels singing. Yeah, I’m pretty positive those were angels I heard. Wow, thank you so much for sharing your story & opening my eyes to the incredible benefits of permaculture!

  4. "Micro-climate" is not bullshit. I live in zone 9B, where we get 30-degrees, three times, for one hour each. There are some areas of the same yard which freeze near solid for that one hour, and 100 feet away? A pineapple guava tree which suffered zero damage because it was surrounded by larger trees planted close together. I'm at the phase where I'm questioning the need for direct, full sun.
