Scientifically this will not work – calcium can only move via the xylem, through the roots, ip the plant to the growing point. Spraying as you advice is a complete waste of time because calcium can't be absorbed via the leaves

Hi. I tried the crushed antacid tabs mixed with water and sprayed on the tomato plants and had amazing results. That said, I use grow boxes (from Garden Patch for what it's worth) and I am wondering if I can crush up a tab and put it in the water of the grow box? Would that be as effective as spraying the tomatoes?

Buy a Bag of Calcium Nitrate + Boron its cheap.
What helped my blossom end rot.
I save my egg shells.
Bake them at 250 degrees for 30 minutes.
Then crush them into a powder.
Then scratch it into the soil.
Plants respond really fast.
I now have a healthy watermelon fruit
It's impossible to stop. If you don't water enough the plant doesn't get any calcium. If you water too much it deletes the calcium. You have to magically know the exact amount of water which is impossible. I got it on a couple tomatoes so threw the plant with 30 tomatoes in the trash. I spent too much time growing for nothing and wasn't going to waste more time for no results.
so glad I double checked with you. I almost bought (expensive) dolomite. Curious, how does this compare to dolomite?
Is it safe to add tums to my worm bins if I run out of eggshells?
Tums will not work. If the plant can’t absorb calcium tums won’t work. Also calcium only transports well through xylem not phloem.

You can use a blender to blend smaller amount and then mix with more water and won’t clog sprayer.
Hi there. I used Rolaids instead of Tums. I sprayed my tomato leaves. The next day I discovered several holes in the leaves. I didn’t see any horned worms. Could the antacid cause this problem?

Ok I’m going to try your tums method! I do not have blossom end ROT but instead I have BLOSSOM DROP! I have a worm farm for verma composting plus worm tea stops all sorts of fungus spraying on leaves but in Florida the humidity with high hot temps are causing blossom drop so I need to strengthen my tomato plants with calcium! Let’s see if it works ! Following your lead!
