Thanks for the video, my first attempt with a worm bin was not successful. After looking at yours I can see that mine was probably too wet. And I also don't think I fed them enough and while they did survive for about a month they ultimately all died. When all this snow melts I'll take my two bins outside to combine them and start over— Wayne
Looks nice, Jay! I pulled off the leaf mulch from my garlic bed today. There were loads of worms underneath it. I mixed in composted horse manure into the soil last fall, and it really seems to have increased the amounts of worms. The garlics have survived the winter, and I`m pleased. Never grown garlic before, so this is exiting.
You're worms really are looking healthy there Jay, and I love what you're using for the bedding! I've been feeding coffee grounds too as a powder formula with oats and egg shells but I've been thinking I should just mix them in with the other food. I've been feeding mine about 3 or 4 ice cube sized chunks of pureed food like this every other day and putting the grit in on the opposite days. I also have been putting newspapers on top of the bedding and moistening them which helped me to control the moisture a little bit more. Great video, I'm quite a bit jealous of your bedding there! 🙂

All the best,

Looks like your worms are happy with their environment.

Those worms look good I guess they just need a snack and water ! That is going to be some great worm castings !
They definitely love the manure!
They sure are enjoying themselves. I have to put a fence on top of my raised bed so the chicken don't eat the worms my first year Great video
