  1. You should soak the seeds for one or two days before planting. Its a gardeners secret to make them sprout a lot faster. Works with most other seeds too

  2. What happens when they shoot out a very long shoot about 10 inches? It’s only April 16th here and my last frost date is May 11. Will that be your permanent bed in the styrofoam container?

  3. Hi! How long did it take for the asparagus to get from the seed to the small bed you made? I sowed My asparagus 2 months ago and its about 25 centimeters high for about a month and doesn't seem to grow more

  4. Great video! I have those in tiny little seedling cups, I guess I need to transfer them in small pots for 3-4 weeks. Now, is this the process that takes 3 years for it to actually have the first harvest?

  5. To avoid transplant shock, I grow all my seedlings in the cardboard tube from a toilet roll. I plant the whole lot into the ground and the cardboard breaks down over time
Cut each cardboard tube in half

  6. I planted some asparagus from seed this year. It's growing great. Right now I have 4 plants in a 3 gallon container. They're growing great and everything is fine with them. I imagine a 3 gallon pot is plenty of space for them for at least the first two years. But what about freezing in Winter? I live in a Texas. Of course we have really mild winters but we do get freezing temps. I'm just wondering if a 3 gallon pot will keep the roots from freezing during our mild winters. We might get a night or two of temps in the 20's. I'd like to wait to transplant until next spring or summer. Any thoughts?
