Strawberries are a must in any garden big or small, new or old. These sweet fruits are great with a bit of traditional cream or made into pies, puddings and preserves. In this quick video I show you the simplest way you can create new plants simply by propagating their runners. It takes only a few seconds for each one and they turn into strong plants with a good sustained root system in only a few short weeks.

Well done, Huw. I need to get busy propagating some strawberries myself.
Nice one Huw, perfect timing. I'll be doing this in the next few days. Never realised you had to cut back the plants as well. Can you show us how this is done?
Paul.
Very nicely done up close demo Huw. Thank you!
Its that EZ folk , I just built a vertical strawberry barrel
Very resourceful–using dried daisy stems as bent "wires" to hold the strawb's in position! 😀
This is something I will try… didn't know what to do before… We have a small patch but doing this should make them go wild… THANKS…
I nearly posted a video on strawberries as well my friend ! Great minds think alike 😉
Very nice presentation!
Tim
Thanks for sharing, I really need to put strawberry bed. I have tried in the past and did let them run properly. I was green, and my 1st year.
do all strawberry plants have runners? also i noticed my plant survived the winter in the green house and i had a head start this year, is that normal, it was the only bit of green i seen in the green house in the middle of winter, they was in a big hanging basket too
What a great tip about the Daisy stalk!
