An update on the progression of the food forest as the summer begins to draw to a close. I share some of my ideas for the fall garden, and bring you guys a long for a clip of the harvest.

  1. in my first year garden here i had too much zucchini's on 6 plants, i still have a lot of huge pumpkins, huge beets where the mice are fond of, but alas all my tomato plants got phytophtora, i must say august was very wet and i think the climate is not good to have tomato's here outside (anyone tips?)… o yeah and my kohlrabi are also huge, next year i try melons and wanna hugel here and there, now i have just 2 small hugel spots…living with nature is the only healthy and healing thing there is.. "comprehend and copy nature" Victor Schauberger said, though in some other setting…;)

  2. Very nice!  I am happy that you are reaping the benefits of your FOOD FOREST.  I would say that your gardening experience is a SUCCESS.  Thank you for sharing your journey with us.  :0)

  3. i have watched many of your videos…  Found you from J&J acres…. love your progress and all the fruit trees… I dont see any figs…. maybe that would be a good idea  in the future…

  4. Watched a lot your vids James. Great results mate. All your hard work will pay off in the following years. The way you're gardening improves the soil year upon year with less setup work each year (as you say just sowing and harvesting). Your spiney legume looks like a black locust but I'm not a fan of their spines either. I'm going to plant some Gliricidia this year for bio mass accumulation. Similar uses but I'm not sure if would survive your winters. Are you going to chop and drop the dying plants or do you compost? Thanks for sharing. 🙂

  5. James… your videos are great!!! Your garden is where I want mine to be. Just started with hugenkulter but always wanted to build up a mulch garden. I'm in mid-North Carolina but took horticulture in Miami. Keep up the good work!!!
