Gratefulness, thankfulness, contentment, they are probably feats that will not help much in the struggle for life, if the world is all about having success, money, power.
These things are good (the gratefulness etc), but once institutionalized, are a tool to keep people where they are, and do as they are told. These things have to come out of ones own, and can not be taught by anyone IMHO, other then life itself. I agree with you, but that's just my 2 C.

Word mate. I am with @bo ter berg I look at the politicians they lie get voted in and screw the people who voted for them and do what lines there bottomless pockets. I dont blame them I blame us. But the points you made are spot on.
