VIDEO: Week 1 Indoor Hydroponic Update – Kratky Method

This method of hydroponics is really amazing me. I am so shocked to see
these results, and with the amount of growth I have seen within the 7
days these have been in the system, they have really gone nuts! The
Kratky method is really doing well!

  1. Curious to see how your Kale comes along. I never had luck with it in Kratky. It just never takes off. You gotta try Malibar Spinach. I had unbelievable success last season with it in a Kratky setup.

  2. Great stuff! I need to get on my Kratky tote with some bib lettuce, and other stuff. Keep up the great work. Glad things are working out for you after the move. Looking forward to the next video(s).

  3. How often do you need to change out the fertilizer solution. Also when you need to add water to bring the levels back up do you add just water or do you add more of the fertilizer solution.
I am starting seeds no to do some hydroponics indoors.
    Thanks for the vids.

  4. You don't need a pump in the bucket at all. Let the roots come thru in the seed starter try before going to bucket and don't lock the lid down, just let it sit on top so some air can get in there.

  5. Hi – looks great.  If light causes algae, why do you need a bubbler in the bucket and not the table system?  Thank you for your great information

  6. Folks were commenting saying with no bubbler, algae would form? With no light reaching the water? Hah…

Do you have something in the middle of your float for support when the plants get heavier? Very important

  7. I built a 2×3 foot version with 12 spots for net pots in April. Placed it outside on the north side of the garage, shade for half the day. This little garden out produced my standard beds on the leafy green goodies.

  8. You mention that this is a requested update to a precious video… Would you kindly add a link to the original video in your description? So hard to find on YT on iPad. I'm at the germination stage and would be interested in the before as well. Thanks.

  9. Hey Luke, I’m currently working on an aquaponic farm. I’ve been looking for ways to start my lettuce seeds. When you transplant the seedling would leaving the rock wool be fine?

  10. I am starting the 5gallong bucket setup you posted in another video and am also growing seeds for the spring, Can i do them both in the same closet setup, with proper ventilation lights etc.? I am unsure of the humidity factor. Thanks!
