VIDEO: A little about the SSL

Channel “trailer”. Long time in coming. It’s not comprehensive of my intent but wanted to keep it short. Longer than I intended anyway. Think I may be expanding on some of this in the next few weeks.

  1. I am glad I found your channel. I have learned a good amount from you and enjoy your videos. I also now, know you are right as in some will not learn about growing food. I look forward to what the new year brings for us all. Best wishes. E

  2. I hear ya. I am off grid, but that doesn't mean I don't use the Internet. I began my tire garden when I became a widow, as a project to occupy my mind and body. Now I am trying to grow food year round, save seeds and develop heat and salt tolerant strains of food plants so I can share them with other gardeners that are dealing with these challenges as well. Knowing how to do stuff is one way to become self sufficient without having to become a maniac about it. I love learning new things, and have been following your channel for that reason.

  3. i'm 55. i'm guessing your within ten years of that. when we were young, people stored food that they grew. how many homes have you been in as a kid that had a years worth of several different vegetables. unfortunately a couple tv shows put a bad name on being ready. they highlighted people talking about fighting the government. in the U.S. depending on where you live there are all kinds of weather conditions to be ready for. i don't know if you believe in God or not but it's like satan wants to shame people into not being ready for anything bad. in my opinion the worst thing that could happen is an emp whether man made or natural. shipping of food will stop. i'm guessing at least 90% of the trucks will be toast and all modern farming equipment will be gone and the processing plants too. small farms with older tractors and implements will be ok for awhile until gas runs out. i guess there will be plenty of abandoned cars to get it from. it just makes sense to ready (i say ready because the press has destroyed prepared.) plus you get higher quality food for less money. they took storing food something that's been going on for generations and made it a bad thing.

  4. Even the self sufficient farmers of the 1800's had to make, grow, and raise things they could sell to buy things they could not provide for themselves. They lived a very hard subsistence lifestyle and over time they prevailed.

  5. I came here because of you leaving a comment on a L2Survive video.
After listening to the above and reading the below, I couldn't help but sub.
I'm looking fwd to going back through your years of videos. : )

  6. Living in Florida taught me years ago that it was prudent to be prepared. Hurricanes and tornadoes brought the realization to the forefront with weeks without electricity and water. We are in the process of clearing a piece of our land for storage of things like canned good and bulk items. Our cabin is so small that there really isn't any room for those types of items. I try not to get overly concerned about the situation the world is in as I find it very depressing. I just store and replace as I go along.

  7. The hardest thing I've struggled to accept is that we may produce videos intended to inform, educate, inspire thought, etc., but most folks watching are just seeking entertainment, conversation, something to pass the time and help them forget about reality for a while.

It's the same with the preppers. Buying and storing food and making preps is just a way to pass the time and have something to talk about.

There is a certain degree of mass hypnosis, made possible by the internet, that tends to steer our YouTube channels and such in certain directions.

The popular prepper channels, bushcraft channels, survival channels, people who like to talk about themselves and take selfies and put on make up channels…. They all have the same feel and promote the same things; lower intelligence, ignorance, racism, discrimination, dependence, obedience, selfishness, vanity, self righteousness, CONSUMERISM.

Folks watch and get drawn in like moths to a flame.

I mean Heck, anyone in power could easily showcase certain ideas and hide other ideas away using social media like YouTube and Facebook.

This alone could be used to steer an entire nation in a certain direction, an entire world.

It can also be used to divide a nation and keep it's people occupied, give them a place to vent their frustrations so they don't revolt or get in the way while the powers that be further solidify their positions of authority.

Bottom line is that we are just entertainment and a way for some large corporation to gain power and control people.

  8. I think we have very similar attitudes my friend. I like showing my mistakes because then we can all learn from them. I don't pretend to be an expert. I'm learning lots, and I too am on the journey.
