VIDEO: GGC – 25 – HUGE Iceburg, Humpback Whale, and Newfoundland Hospitality

Part 21 of our road trip across Northern Quebec and Eastern Canada. While on the northern peninsula of Newfoundland, we heard about a humongous iceberg that could be seen from the shore. We asked for directions at a nearby campground and two gentlemen who happened to be there, offered to take us out onto the water to see it up close. We then encountered a humpback whale, and ended it off with a glass of rum on ice… ICEBERG ICE!

  1. hey guys, been watching for a while and love the videos… if you are going east towards St. Johns make sure you stop into Skipper's Pub in a small town in central Newfoundland called "Badger" and say hi to Mike and all the Bennett clan from their sister Gerrie and husband Darin! Ask them to "screech you in"! haha and video tape it for youtube!!!! Safe travels!

  2. There's just so much happiness and contentment exudes from this episode, it's truly cathartic.ย A fewย things came together to have such Heavenly serenity.ย  A) You stopped for a day to relax and truly take-in the Divine beauty of the surroundings. B)ย ย You had an unhurried marine excursion with two fantastic local guides, who were full of folksy humor and wittiness, what Newfoundlanders are famous for. The departing drink with real, naturalย ice (perhaps multi-thousand year old glacier ice), ย was really 'the icing on the cake' so to speak. Are you aware, that there are people, who spend tens of thousands of dollars, in orderย toย subscribe toย exotic adventure tours, after savings for it for a long time?ย  You've showed to your viewers, that it is possible to accomplish that, on a shoestring.

  3. That was simply incredible!
I may never get the chance to be that close to an iceberg… I thank you for sharing that experience! Wow!
Your whole presentation is great – what it lacks in camera expertise you make up for in being real people. Good people. Fun to watch. Great eye. Great relationship, nothing phony about it.
Keep up the great work, guys! From a fellow Canuck – Dave

  4. I'm really enjoying your vlogs! I'm in St. John's but my dad is from L'Anse aux Meadows so seeing these sights is very sentimental for me, so glad you got to see icebergs up close! And those whale breaches! Nothing like Newfie hospitality! Seems like you really enjoyed your trip ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. That was AMAZING! We are preparing for our full time RV adventure and, except for the tire incident, are hoping to do almost the same route. So for now we are living through your videos. Thanks for sharing. Cathy & Tony
