So glad to have come across you. Love, love, love all the homesteaders. Thank y'all for a wealth of info as I am starting a homestead and doing as much research as possible and find a starting point.
I agree with you! I used raised beds AND tilled just to get my family's seeds in the ground so we had food. Great video hun. I love Starry as well.
YES!!! People think I'm crazy when I start planning my garden for the following year when this year's harvest hasn't happened yet!
Your tomatoes are beautiful! Can you please do a video on tomato care?
I envy you……great videos.
Great job you do, it’s a picture for the magazines lol
You and Starry are my go to people.
I loveyou your videos, I learned of your videos from Starry,,,I am also in Tennessee, (middle Tennessee) I also am gardening BTE, gardening, combined with permaculture gardening…thanks for sharing your experiences
Love my back to Eden garden. Fourth year, third year with chickens. Every year something different. Adding a new garden this spring.
Appalachia has a bad reputation for lazy people but you are AMAZING! Proud of you!
Hello! I absolutely LOVE your channel. I am trying to start a back to Eden garden but I am using raised beds. Do I need just compost to start or should i get compost and regular soil to mix? I know I need a covering but that's not what I'm talking about. I HAVE to buy from the store this go around. My chickens and goats aren't making enough yet. Thanks so much!
Is there a certain type of wood chips you would recommend?
Hi Patara! I’m looking back at this video as I’m planning to use my cattle panel arch for beans this year as well as my cukes…I was hoping you had an idea of how far apart you spaced your bean plants? Thanks!
Great video, I'd really like to see how you prune, cut back and trellis your tomatoes iv been told how to do it but I really need a visual because I really shopped the heck out of them. And I didnt know that my nippers need to be cleaned before doing it…ooops
LOVED THIS VIDEO! LOVED THE ENERGY! Honestly, you should call yourself The Appalachian Garden Life Coach! GO GO GO! YOU CAN DO IT! DON'T GIVE UP! And guess what? I am moving to TENNESSEE FROM NY! SUBSCRIBED! ❤️ And BTW… EAT THE WEEDS! Very, very, very healthy for you!
Superb video. Intense even with a zealous fervor to get moving! Congratulations on your gardens… Subscribed!
Wonderful video. I'm intrigued by the Back To Eden style garden…I'm going to check out Starry's channel too thanks for the suggestion. Just a quick question, do you grow from seed?
Absolutely have been following your channel for awhile and next spring my garden will be in its 3rd year and I’m excited to be more structured
THANK YOU
Must disagree with you about tilling. Forty years ago no-till was just beginning to be understood. In my college soil science class we studied the chemistry, biology and physics of soil. Tilling is damaging to all of those factors. And I can tell you the farmers weren't happy that the soil scientists were finding this out.
Better to leave it fallow. If you must till to eat, prepare to leave that site fallow in the future so it can be mended.
How long have those wood chips been down at the time?
Also…are you planting from small plants or seeds in this garden 2 years ago?
I just got a truck load of wood chips, and a great back yard now what.
So im brand new, will this work if i just put down manure over the grass, then wood chips? Can I sow seeds right away? Cant find specific instructions anywhere
She's so aggressively kind and intelligent.
I love the way you teach sharing your experiences and truths
Great info! I started a level espalier trellis like those lovely ones you have in the backdrop. I'm just about to start raising quail, and zeeking to build the most symbiant habitat(s) for them. Lots of coyotes and predetors out here.
Have you abandon BTE method at your new homestead.
I love that real flavor. No better way to say it mam, keepin it real. Part of the problem in our society today, that thin skinned America we have become. I just had one question this go around, what is your best tips in growing collard greens? Thank you for all your expertise, I just recently started following your channel and wow what a blessing and wealth of knowledge coming from se Tennessee. I'm in central fl about 30 mins north or orlando
I am so doing this!! Next summer I'll be prepared!! Thank you Patara!!
