  1. I still have the "milk" mindset now, that's how I grew up and so do my kids. lol. Love these video's of you coming up with quite an array of different meals, I bet this was a lot harder than you may have thought it was going to be, but you are doing a great job showing us what things may be like in the future, and how we need to prepair. thank you so much.

  2. I'm so sorry for the lost of your uncle. I prayed for strength, and I know that you and your family will be maintained by the strength that our wonderful GOD can only gives. GOD BLESS YOU!!!

  3. I loved that you shared the story about the husband who lost his job. It spook to me. That is why I started learning to can, garden and got chickens. I grew up poor and I remember searching for pennies so my mom could buy milk for my baby brother. I swore when I had children I would be able to feed them no matter what happened. As a SAHM of 4 if my husband lost his job or something happened where he wouldn't get paid ( hes in the military) I would know my kids would be fed and wouldn't have to go to bed with hungry tummies. Its not just about a SHTF situation its and issuance policy for anything that may come down the road of life. <3 I am so so sorry about your uncle may God wrap you all in his love.

  4. So sorry for your loss of your uncle. Prayers for comfort for you and your family.. BTW have you even canned butter? I've seen a few preppers here on YT do it. I think I may try it. I've bought jarred clarified butter. So I figure if you can buy it that way we can can it too.
Take care. I'm loving this series.

  5. Hi I must say I love your videos and a point you made in this video really applies to us my husband lost his job a year ago we have five Hungary mouths to feed everyday but we don't not waste a crumb and i got hens given us fresh eggs every day and plenty of stored good I still don't know how to can as I live in Ireland and am not sure how to get started love your YouTube channel loyal subscriber from cork Ireland xxx

  6. O my bushes baked beans are THE BEST canned beans I have ever had. I make a pretty good baked bean myself but when you want something quick bushes is the way to go

  7. Glad you are thinkin about more protein! It all looks so good. I know if this was a real situation most would not be eating this well. You have me thinking too. I need to "bump up" my food storage thinking. I love baked beans!

  8. Re: your weight loss, do you attribute any of it to not eating food with preservatives? I don't know what you ate before but right now you aren't using any box mixes, no store bought bread, no prepared desserts, and I wonder how much better you feel.

  9. hahha! this has nothing to do with your video, but every time I hear your wind chimes, it reminds me of that tornado movie that starred Helen Hunt. I keep having movie flash backs!!!! Like I said, nothing to do with the video, but Had to share! hehehehe!

  10. Patara, have you tried freezing your corn on the cob? Mrs V from Our Half Acre heard about it. You pick it tidy up the leaves and stalk and freeze it still in it's husk. She tried it first with a few cobs but was so impressed, she bought another freezer just for corn and fills it up every year. Take a look at her videos about it, I'm thinking that you could maybe ease some of your canning load in the dead of Summer when everything is ripe at the same time and there's a real deadline to get it processed before it spoils. Bev takes it out of the freezer, and either bakes it on the BBQ, or in the oven at 350° still in its husk and when its done peel back the husk the silks fall off with the leaves and you have fresh picked corn on the cob, with your Christmas dinner.
