Your soup and chocolate cake look so good Patara! Thank you so much for always inspiring me to stretch my ability in canning!
I couldn't figure out why I was canning extra this year, until July21… well……got a bad report from doc….they want me to take radiation…..I'm not too sure about that! BUT….I have food stuck back, cause I am not sure what we are going to do right now, but the food is there!!!! So canning, dry canning, dehydrating, and all that good stuff, will absolutely help you make it through a crisis!!!
When you insert some new hip song it's very obvious your the mother of teenage boys ahha the flip and nae nae had me laughing your boys are lucky to have such a fun mother!
Yes I am ready for fall
YUM chocolate
Husbands matter lol so funny:-)
Your cake looked wonderful
Since you started this challenge I have been doing an easier than your but my own challenge of all home cooking from scratch and foo storage but on stove – it takes some planning and I see how much more I need
Thanks for what your doing – keep it up you make it look great!
Another thing I forgot to mention-
thank you for being honest about your situation with your videos–like when you had fast food one of the days of your challenge, using boxed cake mix in a dump cake video a while back, etc. It really brings reality to your videos and helps your viewers see that it's not an all or nothing lifestyle–don't have to be the perfect "from scratch" homesteader every single day. It's the big picture that really matters. Thanks and keep up the great work! I particularly love your "life on the farm" type videos–milking your cow, talking about your chickens, pigs, other cows, goats, etc. BTW, what is your plan for the goats? Are you going to breed and milk your goat? Or are they pets? Are you going to breed your young heifer (I think her name is Maybelle???) and have two milkers? I need an update on Cochise too! We need a farm animal update. :)I made the same comment this morning about Fall. Our leaves are starting to turn and I got the Fall garden planted. Hopefully we don't skip over the season like we did Spring this year.
Thanks for the video 🙂
You can't bake without making a mess! That's the fun of it! <3
That is what I did when I made a pineapple upside down cake and it worked great
I love your ideas and what you are doing with this trial run. Thank you
Oooohhh yummy, looks good! I love the Hershey's cocoa chocolate cake recipe on the can, OMG, that is so good! Canning pear butter tonight, but canned pear and apple pie filling a few days ago and last night canned fruit cocktail. Must put cherry pie filling to can on my list, made cherry jam a couple weeks ago and it was yummy. Aggghhh, my list keeps growing and growing!
Oh and I canned a ton of soups in pints last fall for us quick lunches and hubby's lunches at work, worked out great! The two big hits were a ham and potato soup and beef vegetable, but he even likes just spicy beans, have to freeze him cornbread muffins to take with all his soups though, but it sure does work out good!
Fantastic looking cake!
Mmmmmm…..cake. I love baking. Keep up the good work Patara.
I absolutely love this video series, miss Patara. I may have to do one on my channel once I get my homestead going. Right now we're living on the property in an rv. No garden or animals, no house, barn or shed yet.
Did you say this chocolate cake recipe is from a Lodge Cast Iron cookbook?
I also have been feeling fall in the air. Even though it was warm this morning I had to drink some hot chocolate just because I was in the mood for some.
I would love to have a dutch oven. Watched many a vid on the cooking in them. I just need to jump in with both feet one of these days and bite the bullet and get one. I loved mashing potatoes with the mixer. My grandma used to let me always mash the potatoes. Thanks for bringing that memory back. :0)
wow! cake looks awesome!
I love your vids, Patara. you and your family are awesome. I'm so happy you do these for all your fans. Love these sweetie. You are one heck of a worker. This older lady has been learning new things from you. Love you, sweetie. 😀
Soup an cake looks wonderful.
Yes, Mizz P, my mama had an egg beater just like that. 😉
Kids are suppose too like the bowl, mine loved it
Your a trip. Love love your videos
That soup looks so good!! I could eat that anytime. It is January that I’m watching this so it would have been great today. When it comes to the cake, we just use a chocolate cake mix and mix it as directed and then just stir in a can of the cherry pie filling. We don’t add icing. It is just so moist
