  1. Patara, you were talking about missing cheese…. why don't you just make Misty Prepper's raw cows milk cheese. She made it on the wood cook stove and you have plenty of cows milk. We have made it many times and it's really, really good. It does taste a lot like veleeta cheese. We have the recipe if you don't have it. I know she has took her videos down. So glad we saved it!

  2. Dang I only run 2 freezers, but I am about as far East Tennessee as you can get.  Only a few miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway.  Our winters are cold and snowy here. I am afraid to run as many freezers as you because of power outage, but man would I love to have that much pork to can and put away for the winter.

  3. I got that steal trash can lined with card board from a u-tube channel where a guy had the instruments that measured the effects of an EMP, and the trash can sealed with aluminum tape shielded the best from an EMP, his machine produced the effects of an EMP, and was amazed how it protected all his electronic devices. thanks for the advise on how to store things for long periods of time with out a refrigerator.

  4. That all looked so tasty! We're dairy-holics around here. I think we need a cow or goat and some kind of long term cheese storage. I keep boxes of Annie's mac and cheese on hand for side dishes and lunches. I have 4 children old enough to eat, so it's a staple! lol Kroger has had it on sale for $1, too, which makes it easy and inexpensive to stock up on.

  5. I never thought about the water table, I guess it's different if other places. and the Faraday cage is a steel can, not aluminum, the aluminum tape is used to cover all openings like on the handles on the side of the can, and the seams on the can.

  6. Do you dehydrate yet Patara? According to the Mrs Volfie, (of Our Half Acre Homestead ) dehydrated watermelon is better than candy , It's sweet and chewy and I bet your 'gremlins ' would absolutely LOVE a jar of it for Christmas. You'd enjoy it in the deep, dark days of January / February for it's vitamin content. You should look at dehydrating for sure.

  7. You should get dehydrating that watermelon as quickly as possible. According to my guru for such matters as these (Bev Wolfie) dehydrated watermelon tastes better than candy

  8. My granny had a metal bowl with flour (covered in a dishtowel) in her cabinet & every morning she whipped up homemade biscuits like it was the easiest thing in the world. I remember a wood burning cook stove in her kitchen. She filled it with wood and cooked very tasty foods. She gave birth to 13 children all at home. She was a very strong woman. Outside she had an outhouse, there was no indoor plumbing. If we have the grid down then that's something to consider making some type of a toilet. If people now a days had to survive like her they would die….
