What are you growing indoors? Thanks for watching!

  2. Fantastic. I ordered lids and the screen was all the same small size! This is a wonderful idea; sprouting instructions do not really tell you to wash out the seed hulls! I had to learn by my own trial and error. Thank you. Great tip!

  3. Decades ago, I bought a set of 3 sprouting lids, all different hole sizes. You graduated up in size as the sprouts grew, so you could rinse the hulls out. Today, I can't find any such thing for my daughters. The ones I bought recently have 2 sizes of holes that work for alfalfa sprouts, but the silly legs on the lid prevent getting your hand over it to swirl them together before you let the water with hulls out. And for mung beans, there is no way to get the hulls out. I like your idea and will go to some dollar shops to see if i can find some with different size holes. Hoping….!!! At least your way saves money!

  4. How many holes to the inch for the plastic canvas? It comes in a lot of different sizes. Seeds go right through the canvas I have on hand. Actually, just put a double layer of cheesecloth between jar and lid. Straining food is why it exists and most well stocked kitchens have some. No cutting circles needed. Just cut larger than the mouth of the jar.

  5. I had a thought, would a food grade THIN cotton cloth work instead, or would that not allow enough air flow or harbor bacteria? Would love others thoughts on this. I don't want plastic to be part of my sprouting process.

  6. This isn't what I was looking for but ended up watching the entire video b/c of the dog. I was trying to find a way to make my own herb self wicking jars. I see them on sale for $22 but think I can make my own if I can figure out what I need to buy to do it.

  7. I love this idea. Unfortunately a sheet of plastic mesh at a craft and fabric store in Australia 33cm x 26cm costs A$6.50. It is so expensive to live in Australia. I can get 3 x 500ml preserving jars for A$6.00 so that's not too bad. Maybe I'll go the food container route mentioned in your other post on how to grow sprouts!
