I've really not grown to like cornbread, trust me I've tried. Growing up my mom never made it. My husband likes it, I'll have to make him this recipe. Khaki Campbells are awesome ducks. I sure love mine.
Great look'in cornbread! Adding a liberal drizzling of sorghum syrup would make 'em shore nugh fitt'in! I enjoyed my very first Khaki Campbell eggs several weeks ago that I purchased from a neighbor. I noticed two characteristics, HARD shells, and clear egg whites but they were delicious!! Thanks for posting, always enjoy your homespun – country videos! Phil Upstate S.C.
I got my skate board out, my mittens on, and heavy pants — if I leave tonight, I should be in Tennessee by April. Could you make another batch then, I will probably be a might bit hungry…
You keep saving Lodge Cast Iron — is Lodge a brand name? or a style of skillet?
My mom taught me to make corn-bread many years ago. She and I both put a butter knife or case knife under our corn-bread so that the bottom of the bread wont sweat and become sticky on the bottom.
Patara you should try some more breeds of ducks please possible the heritage breed variety
I hear new chicks…gonna show them to us soon?
When I was in the Navy ( I am a retired Submarine Sailor) we used to say if we do not eat it today it will be soup tomorrow. Usually it was some good soup but what weird concoctions the cooks could come up with! Now I want some cornbread and buttermilk.
I hear baby chicks is the kitchen, are they just hatching?
Q: I have a large bag of "corn flour" (from a failed attempt at tamales) Could I sub that for the 2 cups mixed or just the 1 c flour part?
I am allergic to honey but I can sure have molasses. Soup looks awesome too!
yum, I have Khaki Campbells and Pekins. My siblings are always asking me for the duck eggs. They like them so much better than the chicken eggs.
omg that looks sooo good! I don't have a functional oven or duck eggs.. 🙁 You made me drool LOL. Thank you for sharing!
oh … I …love…cornbread! 🙂
look great! Love the nice simple recipe.
Your soup looks terrific. My daughter loves your potato soup recipe. Thank you so much.
poltergeist?
Delicious! Thank you.
Lol! Some bodies gonna have to eat that! Hahahah
Now that looks like skme more kind of yumminess….a big ol glass a sweet tea and a hunk of sweet onion, and Im on my way….love ya baby and you always do a wonderful job at what ever you decide to do
Wish we could go to the conference. Do you think you might be able to sell DVDs of the conference?
Patara, quick question; I was shopping on Amazon to get some organic cornmeal and realized that there is medium and coarse ground. I am assuming you use the medium ground but could you confirm for me please? I wanna be ready when I make chili next week!
we love honey cornbread with real bacon bits added…delicious
looks delicious – gonna give it a try – love the chicks peeping in the background.
Awesome awesome video
My ducks have just started laying. Going to have to try this! Love the sounds of chicks in the background too.
A young friend just brought us a dozen duck eggs and we are made cornbread right now with them! Can’t wait to taste it.
Great, Looks like we will be neighbors next year when we move to our homestead in Sunbright, TN
