  1. It never gets old having chicks even in the winter! I have had a lot of broody mommas this winter. When I let my broody mommas raise their babies, I bring them in the basement where it is much warmer than outside temperatures. If you give babies to a broody Silkie it takes several days for them to get out of that deep trance.

  2. I was wondering why you had silkies. Do you use/sell the eggs?
I thought you put buttercup and the older chicks (not the 4 wk old silkies) outside? Or is she a house chicken?

  3. Awww. That is so sweet it makes my teeth hurt lol. I have one silkie, she is gray and will hopefully start laying next month. Thank you for sharing this, I learn so much from you. Beautiful babies. Blessings and Hugs from Texas

  4. I am planning on getting chickens in the spring. I haven't done this since I was a kid. The silkies are so cute. Would it be a bad idea to get them, since they tend to go broody if I don't plan on increasing the flock? I only have a small space and do not think that I should have any more then 2 or 3.Thanks for any help.

  5. I was wondering if you immunize your baby silkies against Mereks disease or any other diseases. I was going to purchase a dozen one day old Bantams including silkies but I had to cancel the order and get larger, hardier chicks that will  be immunized. Most places do not immunize these little chicks (any bantams including silkies) I couldn't take a chance because I heard that this disease can wipe out the entire flock. I just want to know how you stand on the subject of immunizing chicks. Thanks

  6. Do you still ave thst grey silky chick in the video? I would love if you could make a video of your most faviroute chickens(and what thst grey one would have grown up to be if you still have it)

  7. You literally answered every question I had. I got my first chickens (silkies) and my hen had 3 chicks 2-10-20 and two died and I brought one in. And put him in a brooder and got him/her some friends Cochins and barred rocks and they’re all doing fine
