As you were speaking on soil conditioning, my thoughts wandered to used coffee grounds…and then to slug control.
Today I read in The Telegraph (dated March 1st of this year), that it is illegal to use coffee grounds or any sort of home made recipe for slug/pest control, in the UK or EU which has not been tested and approved by Brussels.
Technically, people can be receive huge fines for doing so.
….but you CAN use coffee grounds to condition the soil.
It's all in the wording, now.
Mind-boggling.
Now I wonder how well I can condition the ground with neem oil…..
