Hello! I just had one question for you, I also have silkies, and they have been laying we just had our first baby chick yesterday! Yay! But our second is trying to hatch but isn't making any headway it's had the same tiny hole( about a pencil eraser size hole) it's been about 4 hours since I've noticed the hole, and was wondering how long do I wait before I intervene? Thanks I really appreciate any help

They're gorgeous & she is a good Mumma. Congrats! .. Silkies are fantastic Mums in my experience. Yes they communicate with their chicks before they hatch out of their eggs. Clucky hens (in general) generally get up on the third day from the first egg hatching to give all their chicks a chance to hatch. You're doing a wonderful job with your chookies & I love your videos.

If my Silkie hasn't started laying eggs yet will she still be a broody mama? She is 5 months old now.
I usually just get females and eat there eggs it turned out some babies they sold me were roosters so I’ve been watching you to learn its a whole knew boat for me lol. My chicken for passed 11 days 1 egg a day so i guessing i wait till she done laying and count 28 days?
I have a broody hen! I was going to try to break her of it but then one of your broody hen videos popped up. I set her with some eggs from the rest of the flock. She's happy. This will be a fun egg-periment. My kids are really excited. I'll be looking at more of your videos to help us prepare.
I had a white silkie like that once. But someone's dog got her. I was NOT happy.
