  1. galvanize coating is poisonous, you will wish to burn off that coating before cooking food in there.
maybe why they don't use it in outdoor cooking grills.
    looks great

  2. good morning SSM !! looks like a special bit a kit !! you'll have to firer you the pit and get cooking, mines a medium rare !! lol thanks for sharing and happy gardening

  3. I love your grill, and we just built a fire pit! I like yours better than the ones that they sell here, so I think I'm going to look for one more like yours, if I can't find one, the one you listed at Amazon is reasonable and looks good too. Thank you! Sheila

  4. Great series Mark. Loved your kugelculture post as I'm a huge fan of raised garden beds. Anyway, it's been 6 months now so how did your tripod BBQ grill over fire pit work?

  5. Where i come from these grills are the "traditional" grills we use. it is quite specific to a certain part of germany whereas in the rest of germany it is barely known. We call it "Schwenker" which literally translates to "swinger". I did not see you use it in action, but one of its major features is that you can not only control the heat on your meat using the heigth but also by giving it a certain … well… swing. that way you can put it a little lower so the meat gets more heat, but with the swing the meat gets swung out of the heat periodically. So effectively you get strokes of heat onto the meat which yields different results than just plain hgeating. best you play around with it a little

and yes i am aware that i am commenting a 2 and a half year old video, but it might help someone nonetheless
