  1. Hi Mark, I agree with the aggressive pruning of Mint, but only the dead stalks. I've actually killed Mint [believe it or not] by over cutting too much, so I make sure I only remove the dead stalks down to the soil level. It's easy to see when it's done as it literally dies, & its each to pick as the dead stalks just remove easily, but the stalks that are still healthy, I don't go too mental, leave at least an inch or two above the soil, then mulch. Cheers.

  2. Thank you for the tips, and your very convincing beautiful mint. I like my fresh mint leaves for breakfast. With plain yogurt (strained if possible), extra virgin olive oil, good quality olives (not stuffed or pitted), pita bread. Also good with added cucumbers, and, or tomatoes. It's a simple Lebaneese dish called labnéh.

  3. i have two old cement laundry troughs i got with the house..one has strawberries the other ne side has spearmint the other peppermint. Other than rain and watering every so often thats it. I did put sme powerfeed onto them when i first planted them thats it…..it did take a few people a bit to move the troughs to the shaded herb garden by the back door but!!!!! I pick them nd dry the leaaves on cardboard in a drawer for tea.

  4. Favorite thing with mint is rhubarb mint juice. You make rhubarb syrup, add water, heat it up, and steep the mint leaves. Then you chill it and drink it like any other juice. Really good!

  5. You can make mint teas or just add it to your green tea ti make it a little different. I have a lot of dried mint that I just add along with the green tea in the morning and it is very refreshing.

  6. I just bought a mint plant. I'm in zone 7b. I plan to keep it indoors until spring. (It makes the house smell great!) How can I prune it for more growth? Snip the top leaves? Also, when spring comes, should I plant it outdoors? Should I protect it during the winter if I do? I'll be growing it in a container per your excellent suggestion (if I can keep it alive until spring). I remember mint growing along the sides of my grandmother's house as a child. I was so impressed by it! I'm not "minty" person, lol, so I'll be giving mint away to friends and family. Thank you for making a video about it. Seems like every time I need an answer to a question, there you are! You must work very hard at your garden and the documentation and research required, not counting your own experience. You relate information in a positive and eager way. I love it! Thanks again. I'll be seeing you again soon! (Probably today, lol)
