  1. When I first got my Gernsey dairy cow, she was a first calf heifer. They had just pulled her from her calf and transported her 300 miles. She had never been hand milked before. And I have to say that she DID KICK me several times knocking me backwards off the milk stool several feet. I just kept being patient with her and "lovin" on her and now (9 months later) Honeysuckle follows me around like a puppy. Patience is the key! Vivian Ann on the side of the mountain in NE Tennessee

  2. Glad to see you up and around. Please be careful. Your cows are so sweet. Is she bred and is the other one a steer or your bull? Do you have anymore cows? Take care and God bless

  3. Another "good advice" video from someone who cares. Be sure to talk to Bri about kids around the cow too. My wife and I watch Art and Bri also.

  4. Would you share your refresher spray recipe? Buying our first cow this weekend, thinking I might need that spray. I use EOs for everything, may as well use them for my new baby, too. Love your videos and your common sense approach. Oh btw, the MoonPie banana pudding was a big hit! Thank you.

  5. Very sweet video. Ive been watching Art and Bri and I noticed Molly has bonded with Art from the very beginning. Its fun to join in on this community of homesteading. I have learned so much from each one of you. What a wholesome, healthy way to live! Ive been praying for you to have a fast healing of your boo-boo.

  6. Brushing my cow is a delight for both myself and my cow. She even puts her giant head on my shoulder so I can really get under her neck. I'm even going to share that after I'm done brushing her and giving treats I kiss her right on her nose. She's so accustomed to my doing it that she put her nose up and waits for her kiss. Cows are very strong animals. I would not recommend someone new to handling a cow get as close as I do with mine. It's been a long time building our relationship. However, once you've formed that bond with your cow (or goat or sheep or horse) it's a wonderful relationship and worth the time it takes.

  7. Has anyone ever bumped into you accidentally?  Cows do it all the time.  No matter how much they love you, they can hurt you seriously.  Y'all be careful.

  8. Love your videos! I have 2 1st time Jersey heifers overdue so am watching every video I can. I had a 4 year old Jersey prior that had a mummy calf. Just sad 🙁 . I appreciate you mention about demeanor changes also.
