every other plant I go to research on YouTube and watch videos about I somehow I end up on your Channel. thanks again for another great video dude one day I'm going to have to send you guys some pictures everything that I've been putting up in the motivation
So I’ve had my gooseberry plant for about 3 years now and while it does flower in the spring it hasn’t produced any berries. When I got it at my local nursery they only had three plants all the same verity but I had forgotten to ask which verity it was. Any tips on getting it to fruit?
Got a few gooseberry plants myself. It will be fun to watch them grow.
James you should have warned your watchers that gooseberries and currents (Ribes genus) can carry white pine blister rust. Some states have special rules to follow or have totally quarantined the Ribes genus from certain areas in order to protect the white pine tree industry.
Even in your native NJ there are areas that the gooseberry plant is not allowed.
– From NJ Dept. of Agriculture:
"The possession or movement of red currant and gooseberry plants (Ribes sp. and Grossularia sp.) is allowed into or within New Jersey except the following municipalities, constituting a protective area: Montague, Sandyston, Walpack and Vernon Townships in Sussex County; West Milford, Ringwood Borough and Wanaque Township in Passaic County, and Jefferson Township in Morris County."
MEhhhh … I wanted to plant gooseberry because they were growing in my yard in Canada when I was a kid. While making my research to buy some , I learned that they are Illegal with all other types of Currant to plant in RI , where I live now =/ Apparently they can carry a disease or something that affect Pine…. But so many other wild plant can also transmit it….doesn't make that much sense, especially that you can PAY to have a permit … not sure if they give it easily or not. Anyway Great video now I want to grow a food forest too ! =)
Bought a gooseberry bush now I keep looking for catapillers in it everyday lol.If I don’t rip gooseberry bush

My gooseberries start green and turn to a light orange what does that mean ?
The variety I have has berries with spines on them, do those call off as they ripen, or no?
Hi, my gooseberry is in a pot, and its 5 years but have never fruited. Why is that? Please help.
I wish I can grow them here in my zone 9a
How many types of gooseberry are there. I had two different types one died. One of the we had when I was a kid was more of a cane type bush.
I guess I was expecting to learn more about soil pH and things like that, not how to pick them.
