  1. cool trellises Luke. im nervous for you with your association rules on that lattice. i was told to take my materials down or i would be fined for having any fencing type material going over the 4 foot limit for our neighborhood, i was told it couldnt be higher than the current fences and not see from the street, Hope they leave you alone. :}

  2. I usually turn the lattice long ways on the bed or in the middle & it works ok. Proved to be a bit difficult with squash, cantelope, watermelon for me previously but perfect for beans, peas etc… that being said, had I been on the squash etc daily training it maybe have been better but vaca made that impossible so gd luck & TFS.

  3. I had a twin bed mattress that I wanted to put in trash but they would charge me 25.00 to take it. So I took off all the material down to the springs. I had lots of diff colors of spray paint so I painted the springs. Attached two bamboo poles by running it in and out of springs and going down into the ground to support it and that's my trellis lol

  4. i would love for you to actually show when you make the project instead of showing the finished product. I would learn a lot more.

  5. pre drill the holes and use screws…. (for the lattise) so much better than nails…. then you can easily take it apart for repositioning in another area of your garden.. Just sayin! lol (sorry… comes from my hubby "Drilling" these little jobs into my head) if it works great! 🙂

  6. I use the same tomato cages i use for my tomatoes made from 5 foot wide 10 gauge remesh concrete reinforcing wire which makes tomato cages 5 ft tall i use them for my tomatoes and I grow my cucumbers and my pole beans up them works fine. but i do not do raised beds though. i do a deep mulch style garden.

  7. yeah that lattice I put up it held up well but we got like 70 mhp gust today the neighbors 80 ft pine tree got blown over by the roots and the wind ripped the ENTIRE side of my raised bed off. i had it screwed together with two scrap oak boards so the trellis hld up but my bed didn't where it started to rot around the screws. don't know whats going on today. still think its a solid way to make a trellis but maybe not if you have high winds all the time

  8. Don’t use this for flowering vines! The wood rots within a couple years. You’ll be pretty sorry and loose your flowers. To many stores sell wood trellises, which don’t last!
