Propagating hibiscus, whether tropical hibiscus or hardy hibiscus, can be done in the home garden and both varieties of hibiscus are propagated in the same way. Hardy hibiscus is easier to propagate than the tropical hibiscus, but never fear; with a little bit of knowledge about how to propagate hibiscus, you can be successful at growing either kind.
Daizz’s tips:-
The hibiscus cutting should be 4 to 6 inches long. Remove everything but the top set of leaves. Trim the bottom of the hibiscus cutting to be cut just below the bottom leaf node (bump where the leaf was growing). Dip the bottom of the hibiscus cutting in rooting hormone. The next step for propagating hibiscus from cuttings is to place the hibiscus cutting in well draining soil. Make sure the rooting soil is thoroughly wet, then stick a finger into the rooting soil. Place the hibiscus cutting into the hole and back fill it around the hibiscus cutting.Place the hibiscus cutting in partial shade. Make sure the rooting soil stays damp (not wet) until the hibiscus cuttings are rooted. The cuttings should be rooted in about 4-6 weeks. Once they are rooted, you can re pot them in a bigger pot.

  1. Sir let me know what will happened to that cuttings will they again propagate or not. I am not sure of which it dried but torned green leaf may grow further or not?

  2. Sir I bought rose plant and trf in to pots after 1 week it started growing with new leaves and next week it become dull and new leaves were dried I don't know y it happened pls help me, still 2 more plans r ter I want to save

  3. Thank you, great clear video.  Are you planning on doing a video on grafting hibiscus?  I'm hoping to graft several colours on to one root stock.

  4. I have exactly done the same way you planted. And also new tender leafs are growing but they are shedding day by day, i have also placed the cutting pieces under partial sunlight and kept them moisturized all the time.. I observed few insects on its leafs few days back so i sprayed dilluted garlic juice on them.
please suggest me a possible solution for the leaf shedding problem.
P.S:- Also suggest how can i add protein to the cuttings for their faster growth.

  5. I thought about making a ring cut below the bottom bud and to leave few cm of stem bellow it so you can dip the stem to the bottom of a cup to be stable but the roots will grow above the cut.

  6. Pull off a branch stick it in some water wait about 2 weeks when you see a sprout stick it in some dirt you'll have a plant that's what I've done you're doing too much
