Welcome to our new kick off of “Discovering Appalachia with Patara!” It was a tremendous honor to be invited to be a part of Knoxville’s Homecoming at James White’s Fort! During this celebration, you will see a true representation of 18th Century living and how this fort/homestead operated. Visitors were treated to many 19th Century and Civil War experts as well! Be sure to check out the unique history of James White and how he established the very beginning of Knoxville, Tennessee!
Enjoy & thank you for watching! xo

Thank you for sharing this video.I love learning about History. They so need to teach this in schools.
very interesting, liked the explanation of the guns they used.
I have that wooden slicer seen on the wall in the first swath. Found at the thrift store, looked old so i bought it for .99. don't know what it's used for though.
gun chap , is very interesting
Loved this video!! Everyone should understand how tough everyday life used to be!! So many people have no idea….But it was also simpler. Something to remember on all our homesteads.
What a fabulous video, thank you for sharing. My Dad was born & raised in Clinton.
This is my kind of history lesson, the sights, the smells, the actors letting you know how it was done, and doing it in front of you. I love the cultural anthropology that goes with the straight history. Thank you for bringing this to us all!
Fascinating! We have such a rich history… which seems to be rewritten by the liberals.
great video!loved the chat with Robert.E.Lee~thanks for sharing and God bless

Great video.I love those antique log cabins. So much to learn there. I went to Williamsburg and they did baking in a stone oven. Did you see anything like that there?
Great video. Awesome history. Have you visited Colonial Williamsburg? I was floored when I walked into the Governor's Mansion. It's a must see.
