The beet tops are so good to eat too. You get a lot of harvest per plant, tops and roots.
Cute baby giggles always get bonus points
how long from seed to harvest
Super cute family
Are the beet tops tough at that size?
Love seeing the family work together!!
Great video!! Thank you ** A suggest Carrots " JUICE " and beets are very good for the eyes!! **
Is this Schutte Farms?
The leaves are wonderfull, no holes.
What do you spray to keep bugs from eating the leaves
I was going to yell at him for a beet video, now I have changed my mind and its the pickled beet video I am going to yell at him for!
My beets last year, in a new garden, did virtually NOTHING (same with all my other root crops). Huge leaves, pea size beets (if at all). Idk why, because that garden has huge amounts of nitrogen (I think, there are so many nitrogen indicators in that field, which was a fallow hay field…does that make a difference?) but such little phosphorus (I think). And completely full sun. So it makes zero sense as to why none of my root chops succeeded. Truthfully the onions did decently, they were basically non maintenance. Carrots Did literally nothing, potatoes were pathetic. I am trying a different area of the property this year for these, it is a little more sandy and I have no idea of it's nutrient content. We will see what happens but could you help???
oh what fun! left a like
What a absolutely beautiful family.
So Blessed.
I hope everyone is doing great.
I'm going to plant so.e cylinder beets tomorrow.
Thanks !!
How do you let the Detroit beets go to seed? And in zone 6 when is best time to plant, I have always been told that heat makes beets stringy and effects flavor is that true?
The beets leaves are yummy, too!
Your baby is just too cute. Thank you for the harvest beet. I am growing beets for the first time. I am doing seeds also I cant wait to see the growth.
YOU CAN GET BEETS FOR 1.50$?!?! They are 4-5$ HERE.
Hello in your video you said you were going to Pickle the beetroot Would you be so kind to tell me the recipe. As I am new to growing veg
Thank you
Jack
Is it better to grow a baby with the beets or the cabbage? Your baby is beautiful!
Can we eat the leaves?
Wow I've had beets that size, the small, and I thought it was too small. Lol.
I'm glad you mentioned eating the tops as well. A lot of people are under the impression that you throw them but I've eaten them always as boiled or sotee them. They're my favorite part of the beet.
Same man ..! as a chef I love small beets, they are so fun to pickle, ferment and even roast whole for long hours miammm miammm
I stir fry the leaves.
Make soup with the beet.
Compost the rest. Nothing wasted.
i heard that when harvestong beets you have to remove the tops asap otherwise the water goes to the leaves, rather than the root
Hello from across lake Michigan! You guys have a great garden <3
