  1. After watching yesterdays vid on getting those carrots up, I tried your recommendations on a pot that's been sitting for a few days with no sprouts. I got a pkg delivered that was packed in plain brown paper. I wadded the paper up, soaked it in water and placed it on top. Within 8 hours, it was sprouted! Amazing! I'm gonna try it on my pots of parsley now that aren't sprouting either. Thanks! And thanks for your 2 cents Violet!

  2. I use Microsoft Access for most record keeping. Relational data base with tables, queries, forms and reports. Somewhat steep learning curve. All your history available. As much or as little as you want. Excel for the household stuff, Access is my go to for real reporting. Ran my greenhouse on it for years. Still do.

  3. Brilliant, have you considered automating some of your growing lanes/beds with systems like Farmbot.io? Is it realistic to operate this on your farm? And do you have an idea of which crops would be candidates for automated planting and watering?

  4. Curtis, Thanks for sharing!
Using CONDITIONAL FORMATTING on your spreadsheets you can set up alerts and warnings for crop maturity/harvesting…
Example 3 days prior to harvest the warning cell turns yellow; 2 days prior the cell turns orange; the day of harvest, the cell turns red.
Check out this powerful feature of your spreadsheet

  5. Great use of the spreadsheet. But I'm curious why you are keeping the greens. Do you have a market for them? And if not why worry about collecting them? Great info you are providing. Thanks for sharing.

  6. I use Google spreadsheets for this. A few tutorials online and I have all the info needed in my small gardrn. I like being able to pull them up on whatever device I'm near as well. I guess it's good practice for the someday farm!

  7. I'm still trying to figure out what selfie-stick/gimble or whatever you use. I'm have been amazed at the quality of the video while cycling especially.

  8. Hey Curtis,

Out of curiosity, what do you do with the green tops that you separate from the radish plant? Forgive me if this was mentioned before elsewhere.

  9. This is pretty awesome. I work for a wholesale greenhouse, and this is very similar to our production system. To simplify things, we go by week number. We have a sow week, crop time, and ship week. For example, right now we are in week 30/2017.

  10. Hey Curtis, do you ever think about doing an updated edition of your book based on what you're doing now vs. what you were doing back when you wrote it, specifically production and record-keeping-wise?

  11. Great Video, thanks!
Do you know where to find information about average yield per square foot? If I know how many pounds I would like to grow, how do I know how many plants I need?

  12. Curtis, I noticed on the spreadsheets I purchased from your digital package, the end of March you classify as "main season start". What makes that last week of March your main season? Also, what is the difference between your "high season" and "peak season"? Thank you in advance and Happy New Year.
