Evening mate those snapdragons are Penstomen and the red bug is a lilly bettle and thats what is causeing the holes in the leafs they also burrow down in to the flower bud themselves killing the flower as they grow So squish em lol
Hi Adam, I think you have had enough comments regarding the Lily beetle. You know your flowers which is impressive and I enjoyed the tour. Tours are always good to watch. Your Dad must like Aubergines, there is something about that dark glossy surface which makes them attractive. Not much one can do when its raining but it is good growing weather, I went out in it today, required spuds for today's dinner and more beetroot I had to feed the toms anyway. Quality video as usual so take care Mike B
Lovely tour of the garden. Penstemon are one of those plants which are good for propagating with cuttings, you could ask your folks for a couple of the non-flowering stems = free flowers for next year.
Don't like Basil? As someone that despises a certain few foods (beetroot being my thing), I also suppose you don't like the smell of it either? I understand mate, last thing you want is someone telling you there's something wrong with you, just don't come for dinner at our place, we have basil in just about everything. Lot's of tomatoes which will go nice with the basil!
Not sure they are Snapdragons or Antirrhinum as you elegantly put it, but if there are some snappies in there it almost looks like they are mixed in with some kind of Beardtongue, but I also could be wrong there.
Great job again mate, your folks place is coming along nicely!
Wow, your folks place is in full swing! I couldn't grow an eggplant to save my life and your Dad has tons of them. May I ask why UK folks use the French pronunciation of things? Unless my history is off, didn't you win all the wars?? I'm a veggie and herb guy, but I enjoyed the flower tour! Nice little update, hope you have a great day:)
Nice tour Adam ..hope you got rid of the Lilly beetle. I read your comment to Michael and had a wee chuckle, reminds me of something my dad says…"Son the only flower you should grow is cauliflower", but I think the flowers go hand in hand with the veg attracting pollinators and predators. Thanks again for the tour look forward to next video.
Cheers for the tour of your dad's garden. It looks to be really good. Those aubergines are looking healthy. I'm growing one this year. Didn't realise that the flowers had spikes on them until today when one got my finger! He has plenty of flowers growing as well ad veg Take care. Nick

Never heard the pronunciation 'ore-bergine' before, interesting! Like auburn hair I guess.
