Gardening is so regional and specific, that trying to follow any one system in the exact same way that a garden guru does it will lead to disappointment. If you don’t find ways to adapt advice to your specific garden, then those “tips and tricks” might be big failures.
There is great value in learning what other people are doing, because it can give you more ideas of things to experiment with in your personal garden. And experimenting is what makes gardening so fun.
So before you run out and convert your yard to a back to eden garden or a permaculture food forest, consider what naturally does well in your region. Working with your garden, not against it, is where people seem to find success. And before you can do that, you must learn your garden.
So don’t be intimidated that someone does something differently. Or that what you do is different from the latest trend. And remember, the only expert on your garden IS YOU!
