Jean-martin…can any of these process be used by the home gardener? I already grow verticly on cattle panels. I could use a sprinkler several times a week for short periods of time?
This is off topic of this video but in one of your recent videos you said if anyone had ideas for any future videos to post them in the comments. Well I have always been curious about how your first farm vehicle (Daihatsu Hi-Jet) impacted the way you farm? I live in central California and my town is spread out. Homes close to downtown are more individual in design which make for irregular yard sizes and the streets are rowed with massive old growth trees that shade out a lot of yards. So I am finding that plots maybe a little further away from downtown are more suitable for growing but they would be to far to bicycle? So maybe a video about if and when you should invest into a farm vehicle? Would it be better to save money and buy used or if you have the funds buy new? What has your experience with farm vehicles been like cost, maintenance, gas and etc? Thank you @Urban Farmer Curtis Stone
I love how they are doing the cucumbers. The perfect height for easy harvest too.
What does JM do about the cucumber beetle?
really interested in what varieties jm likes
Great video and great information. Greetings from Andreas on Off Grid Sweden
Love deep info on the cukes!!!!
You guys are awesome!!
Great info as always. What beneficial insects are being used to combat the spider mites? I get them bad where I am as well.
I like how he says trellis
Curtis, what does jm do to Control downy mildew? I've been growing a few beds of open field cukes in past 2 years, but keep getting this fungus (?) after a couple of weeks of production.. Do you know what conditions favor DM, and if possible to eliminate in open field?
Loving this series with Jean-Martin Curtis, thanks so much!
Great series about JMF's farm!
It's probably too late now, but I'd really love to hear what he has to say about the wheel hoes he's using. I can see he is using Terrateck and I was wondering if he is happy about them. Is it worth the investment and what implements does he like on them?
Anyway, love the show as always. Keep it up! Greetings from Belgium.
JM is the man. I didn't hear an F bomb. Maybe it was edited out. I seem to get more spider mites in my garden in areas that don't have the best air circulation.
I feel like those misters on the cukes to deter the spider mites would be a perfect environment for foliage diseases. Guess not!
Amazing
It's really close to standard Dutch Greenhouse technics. Next step may even be adding CO2 to the tubes to increase plant growth, after that maybe even growing plants on rockwool type 'soil'. I'm really curious what both Jean-Martin and yourself think of using these techniques and why you are moving in this direction. It is just the super production or is there still a substantial (Green/Perman/give it a name) element in growing the plants like this? Or is it just to experiment and see what happens?
another great video in the series with Jean-Martin Fortier !! got some great tips on heat my greenhouse
What about diatomaceous earth in a baby powder container to dust the plants to kill bugs?
Old school Koss Porta Pro headphones!
Curtis, any chance you have a brand on those heater tubes?
Closing the garage door might help with the heating lol
How tall should I build my greenhouse …..leaning towards 14ft
where is the heating system?
and how can you control temperature inside greenhouse due to the system?
I his follow both of in you tube and fb
If you released 10 thousand Ladybugs in that house they will eat everyone of the spider mites
good looking plants. is there a greenhouse supply to get the tubes?
How long do the cucumber vines keep harvesting from in the green house
Anyone who raises cucumbers will tell you that they will continue growing and producing cucumbers as long as you remove the mature cuckes closest to the plant source. You then keep removing the most mature cuckes and the plant will just keep producing more branches that will continually grow. It is also fact that if you leave a mature cuke on the vine, the other ones growing on the ends will stop growing. If you could keep the temps up and the light constant you could keep one cuke plant indefinitely.
